Explanations of various verses from Surah Yusuf by Mr. Adnan Oktar

Surah Yusuf,  Verse: 23

The woman, whose house it was, solicited him. She barred the doors and said, ´Come over here!´ He said, ´God is my refuge! He is my Lord and has been good to me with where I live. Those who do wrong will surely not succeed.

The woman whose house he resided in solicited the Prophet Joseph and barred the doors. Look, the doors to the living room are not just one, but there are several rooms; that is such a big and splendid house. They are living alone with the Prophet Joseph (pbuh) in that house. Actually the bigots would have freaked out in the sight of that. That woman wanders around in revealing, low neck clothes around the Prophet Joseph(pbuh).

“… and said; “Come over here!” He (Joseph) said; “God is my refuge!” Look, he doesn’t give in to solicitation or else he looks at that woman and sees her beauty and appreciates it as well. He likes her, the Qur’an tells us that he likes her. Actually he desires her but he doesn’t approach her. “He (Joseph) said ;”God is my refuge! He is my Lord and has been good to me with where I live. Those who do wrong will surely not succeed.” Those who engage in debauchery, commit adultery, those who sin would not succeed.

Surah Yusuf, Verse: 24

She wanted him and he would have wanted her, had he not seen the Clear Proof of his Lord. That happened so We might avert from him all evil and lust. He was indeed one of Our sincere worshippers.

“She wanted him and he would have wanted her, had he not seen the Clear Proof of his Lord.” He wants her but doesn’t sleep with her. “That happened so We might avert from him all evil and lust.” Look, God doesn’t want adultery. Not one’s looking at the other gender, not one’s liking the other, but He doesn’t want adultery. What is adultery? It is sexual relations that would disrupt the generations to come. that is a beauty when done with the lawful one; God doesn’t want the other because it is unlawful. “He was indeed one of Our sincere worshippers.” What is his characteristic? His sincerity. Look, God mentions only one characteristic here and He says; “He was indeed one of Our sincere worshippers.” God doesn’t tell us that he was performing his prayers, that he was giving his alms, that he went for Hajj. God only mentions his being a sincere worshipper. What is the main characteristic of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh)? His sincerity. God doesn’t tell us about the bed that he lay in, about how he didn’t eat much, about how he cried and how he refrained from the material aspects of this world. God only mentions his sincerity. This also is Hazrat Mahdi’s (pbuh) main characteristic, insha’Allah.

Surah Yusuf, Verse: 25

They raced to the door. She tore his shirt at the back. They met her husband by the door. She said, ´How should a man whose intention was to harm your family be punished for what he did except with prison or painful punishment?´

“They raced to the door.” My dear one, the Prophet Joseph (pbuh) is such a nice person. “She tore his shirt at the back.” When she pulls his shirt to stop him, his shirt is torn. But we understand that the shirt he has on is not a shirt that is tight on his back; because she can hold on to it, that means it is a loose and comfortable shirt. “They met her husband by the door.” God does that specifically; God is the One Who tears his shirt, God is the One Who makes them meet her husband. Normally they might not have met him there. “She said; “How should a man whose intention was to harm your family be punished for what he did except for prison or painful punishment.” So she wants him to be beaten. “…prison or painful punishment.”

Surah Yusuf, Verses 26-27-28

He said, ´It was she who tried to seduce me.´ A witness from her people then declared, ´If his shirt is torn in front, she speaks the truth and he has clearly told a shameless lie. If his shirt is torn at the back, then she has lied and he has clearly told the simple truth.´  He saw the shirt torn at the back and said, ´The source of this is women´s deviousness. Without a doubt your guile is very great.

When her husband saw that the shirt was torn at the back, he said, “The source of this is women’s deviousness. Without a doubt your guile is very great.” So some women are really very devious, very dangerous; they lay very elaborate tricks. The Qur’an drew attention to this. But of course if her husband was not given such a suggestion, he wouldn’t have gained such a point of view. We can see how open people are to suggestions. For instance, the man might have seen that the shirt was torn at his back but wouldn’t even be bothered about that; he might fail to make sense of it or see that it is evidence.  For instance, it wouldn’t be that effective if the Prophet Joseph (pbuh) said the same but when someone else says this, it would be very effective because he would regard that person as impartial. Since the Prophet Joseph (pbuh) might be considered as a part of that act, his own statements wouldn’t be that much  effective. For instance, in the courts, you know that the accounts of impartial witnesses would be taken as greater testimony rather than the statement of the people directly involved.  That is why the statement of that witness did have a stronger impact on the husband; psychologically the human soul has a greater tendency to that. But we also see that this person has a good conscience. He could have still ruled against the Prophet Joseph (pbuh) if he wished so.

Surah Yusuf, Verse 29

“Joseph, ignore all this, and you, my wife, should ask forgiveness for your evil act. There is no doubt that you are in the wrong.”

“Joseph, ignore all this…” Look, this is his reaction; “…ignore all this…” Do not talk to her, do not be bothered by her, do not have any connections with her. “… and you, my wife, should ask forgiveness for your evil act.” Look, this shows that person is very devout and very rational as he approaches  things very reasonably and conscientiously. He doesn’t do anything wild. For instance, he doesn’t go and beat or kill the woman. We can see the nice result of the devoutness of that person.  Look at what he says; “Joseph, ignore all this…” He tells him not to see her. “…and you my wife should ask for forgiveness for your evil act. There is no doubt that you are in the wrong.” So he tells his wife that she sinned and that she has to repent. He tells her that she is in the wrong towards God and that she should repent for that.  He tells her that he is not the one to punish her, but God is;  but he also doesn’t want her to be punished for what she did. Look, he doesn’t want her to be burnt in the Hereafter. He wants her salvation in the Hereafter as well and approaches her with compassion. “Repent and be saved,” he says.

New Statements by Mr. Adnan Oktar (12 April 2014)

Almighty God gives us some details about the Hereafter but He prepared the Hereafter in a way that would be a complete surprise for Muslims.

God says, “Every self will come together with a driver and a witness.” [Surah Qaf; 21]   Clearly there is a vehicle; it might be a small vehicle or a big beautiful vehicle and there are hosts on both sides of Muslims and there is a light for them both in front of them and beside them. God knows the truth this is a kind of vehicle; that is because God mentions a vehicle that operates on its own in the Qur’an. There is a vehicle that goes on its own, there are hosts inside that vehicle and there are headlights that enlightens the darkness and it moves forward. God says that they will come with those vehicles. Muslims definitely go to Heaven if they find themselves in such a condition. In the Qur’an, God says that they strongly hope for the Heaven. We might come across vehicles similar to those we have in this world or more advanced ones. We might find ultra-modern cities there; that is because God shows that to us, God shows them fruits and they say, “We’ve seen similar ones before.” That is the same with the houses of Heaven; we would say that we’ve seen similar ones before but the quality will be incomparable. There is an amazing trial going on in this world.

Explanations of verses from Surah Al-Imran by Mr. Adnan Oktar

Surah Al-Imran; Verses 40-41

He said, ´My Lord, how can I possibly have a son when I have reached old age and my wife is barren?´ He said, ´It will be so. God does whatever He wills.´ He said, ´My Lord, appoint a Sign for me.´ He said, ´Your Sign is that you will not speak to people for three days, except by gesture. Remember your Lord much and glorify Him in the evening and after dawn.´

He (Zachariah) said : “My Lord, appoint a Sign for me.”  “A Sign” for what? “ He said; “My Lord, how can I possibly have a son when I have reached old age and my wife is barren?” He said; “It will be so. God does whatever He wills.” But look at what he says; “My Lord appoint a Sign for me.” That means Muslims should adopt waiting for a Sign as an Islamic attitude. For instance while thinking; “Should I go on such a trip?” “Should I do this?” “Should I do that?” he should consider “if these are compliant with the Qur’an.” Meaning he should consider if these acts are compliant with Islam, with the approval of God. But while doing so he will expect to see a Sign from God.  He said; “Your Sign is that you will not speak to people for three days, except by gesture. Remember your Lord much and glorify Him in the evening and after dawn.” So that means sometimes people should stop speaking. I mean sometimes simply by talking, people can get themselves in trouble. But God says; “Remember your Lord much and glorify Him.”

Explanations of various verses from Surah Yunus and Surat An-Nisa by Mr. Adnan Oktar

Surah Yunus; Verse 82

God confirms the Truth by His words, even though the evildoers hate it.

“… even though the evildoers hate it.” Look, the man has committed a crime and is a sinner but he doesn’t want it. What does he not want? He doesn’t want the Truth. “God confirms the Truth by His words…” So He will make Islam prevail in the world, He will make Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) appear and the Prophet Jesus Messiah descend.  “God confirms the Truth by His words, even though the evildoers hate it.” God confirms all that He deems right and beautiful by His words. God confirms the Truth by His words right now and this is happening, even though the evildoers hate it.

Surah Yunus; Verse 83

No one had faith in Moses except for a few of his people out of fear that Pharaoh, and the elders, would persecute them. Pharaoh was high and mighty in the land. He was one of the profligate.

No one had faith in Moses except for a few of his people out of fear that Pharaoh and the elders would persecute them.” No one had faith because of the rampant persecution of the state of those times.  Only a few young people believed in him.  That is because “Pharaoh was high and mighty in the land.”  He was an egocentric tyrant and “He was one of the profligate.” One needs to take refuge in God from being one of the profligate; one needs to take refuge in God from being high and mighty.  Once a person acts high and mighty and becomes one of the profligate, God would destroy him. We should not forget about that. Look, there are a handful of young people.  People feel afraid, in a state of panic against the rampant system of the Pharaoh.  But a handful of young people do not feel afraid,        Masha’Allah.

Surah Yunus; Verse 84

Moses said; “My people! If you have faith in God, then put your trust in Him, if you are Muslims.”

Moses says, “My people! If you are Muslims…”  See that there were Muslims in all times. People say those people were Jews, etc. Actually the name of those people who followed Moses was also “Muslim”. Jewish people were Muslims at that time as well. They are Jewish Muslims. “La Ilaha Illa Allah, Moses Rasulullah.” That was the confession of faith at those times. Later on people said “La Ilaha Illa Allah, Jesus Resulullah.” And now we say “La Ilaha Illa Allah, Mohammed Rasulullah.” All of them are true. “… then put your trust in Him.” Putting trust in God is the greatest luxury in this world. The man says, “I want to live a luxurious life in glory, I want to be rich.” Well my brother, you cannot find comfort in that, you cannot be happy, you would grovel in that huge palace. May God forbid, the man then hangs himself on a chandelier in that palace and commits suicide, may God forbid. Once you put your trust in God all sufferings would be lifted. God created that as a blessing. People say; “God asks us to put our trust in Him, God asks us this and that…” God wants all that for your happiness. You feel happy when you perform your prayers, you feel happy when you perform your ablution, you feel happy when you put your trust in God, you feel happy when you mention the Name of God, when you read the Qur’an. Your mind opens up; that is because you are a weak being. God created you in a way that you need this. If you do not live by those beauties you would feel suffocated. These are blessings that prevent you to feel suffocated in the water; those are life-saving blessings. All the commands in the Qur’an are life-savers or else people would be suffocated; life would suffocate them, people are already living in that water. People survive without being suffocated in that because of those beauties. Without them, people would be suffocated. Without those blessings people would die. They would sink in that water. Humanity is in a state like that of the people of the Prophet Noah.

Surah Yunus, Verse 85

They said, “We have put our trust in God. Our Lord, Do not make us a target for this wrongdoing people…”

So Muslims say, “Do not test us with those persecutors.” If God wishes so, He can test us with them but Muslims say, “Our Lord ,do not test us like that “

Surah Yunus, Verse 86

"… and rescue us, by Your mercy, from this unbelieving people!”

The abjad calculation of that verse is 2018. That means Muslims will, insha’Allah, be saved from this pain, from this suffering by 2018 [or thereabouts].Without the doubles the calculation is 2018, with the doubles it is 2021, those are all very important dates. The Qur’an gave very clear dates, insha’Allah, God gave such beautiful signs, masha’Allah.

Surah Yunus, Verse 87

We revealed to Moses and his brother: ´Settle your people in houses in Egypt and make your houses places of worship and establish salat (prayers) and give good news to the Muslims.´

We revealed to Moses and his brother; “Settle your people in houses…” So what should Muslims do? They should have houses to preach religion and make their homes places of worship and establish prayers. Make them places of light in which people worship God and perform prayers.  “… and establish salat (prayers) and give good news to the Muslims.”  Establishing salat means performing prayers as is due, meaning performing prayers in sincerity. Actually salat (prayers) is a very easy religious observation; some radicals make up so many details saying “You should keep your finger like this, your leg like that,” that people say, “Let me not perform prayers then!” They invent hundreds of details. They need to perform their ablutions but those radicals create books of 370 pages and  because people cannot straighten up that information in those 370 pages, they give up performing their prayers. That is a devilish trick, a trick of the satan when actually religion is as easy as it actually is. Almighty God says; “He has selected you and not placed any constraint upon you in the religion -the religion of your forefather Abraham.” He says; “God desires ease for you; He does not desire difficulty for you.”  How could it be easy if you make up details filling books of 370 pages? One might assume that they do all this because of their piety but they have invented details and get suffocated in those details. Being sucked into details is a dissension, a disaster defined in the Qur’an.

Surah Yunus, Verse 88

Moses said, ´Our Lord, You have given Pharaoh and his ruling circle finery and wealth in the life of this world, Our Lord, so that they may be misguided from Your Way. Our Lord, obliterate their wealth and harden their hearts so that they do not have faith until they see the painful punishment.´

Moses said; “Our Lord, You have given Pharaoh and his ruling circle finery and wealth in the life of this world…”  That means Moses says, “You have given wealth and means to the system of the dajjal (antichrist)  “ Our Lord, so that they may be misguided from Your Way. Our Lord, obliterate their wealth…” Look how furious he gets.. “… and harden their hearts…” Those are two important points. He asks Almighty God to obliterate their wealth and to harden their hearts, to cover their minds over so that they would lose their wisdom. “…so that they do not have faith until they see the painful punishment.”  They come to believe eventually, but their tests would be finalized when they finally do so. That is why  religious services should not be presented as if they are difficult and thus give way to the satan. Millions of people distance themselves from religion because ablution and salat are presented as if they are difficult; they have made millions of people abandon religion in this way and they have ruined them all.

Surat An-Nisa; Verse 4

Give women their dowry as an outright gift. But if they are happy to give you some of it, make use of it with pleasure and goodwill.

For instance see that God says; “Give women their dowry as an outright gift.” Meaning give them lovingly with joy; one gives his spouse money, buys her a house making her happy and pleasing her and distribute what you have.  “But if they are happy to give you some of it, make use of it with pleasure and goodwill.” God says use it with contentment. Almighty God wants a mutual generosity, a mutual spirit of bravery, a mutual beauty. So one distributes all he has to those who are in need, to the children: Almighty God tells people to help one another. That is because God is the one who gives those possessions. If people try and keep it all for themselves, the body would be gangrenous, the whole structure becomes gangrenous. Social structure, life becomes gangrenous, an economic crisis starts and people thus fall into suffering.

Surat An-Nisa, Verse 8

If other relatives or orphans or poor people attend the sharing-out, provide for them out of it and speak to them correctly and courteously

If other relatives or orphans or poor people attend the sharing-out, provide for them out of it…” says God. “.. and speak to them correctly and courteously.” To whom? To orphans and poor people. For instance there are some incredibly wealthy people and they have heirs; they all take their shares down to the last penny. See what Almighty God says: “If other relatives or orphans or poor people attend the sharing out provide them out of it.” What does this mean? Keep such people in attendance and distribute those goods abundantly so that they will all be provided for. Instead of keeping everything for yourself, give them to all those in need so that they also benefit from that abundance.  “… and speak to them correctly and courteously.” Look, this is how we understand the environment of happiness that we will experience when the Qur’an prevails.  “… correctly and courteously.” That is because they will not be satisfied with money or goods but with correct and courteous words. It wouldn’t be acceptable if you throw those beautiful things into their faces. You should pay them compliments, you should be appeasing, you should love them so that you would be happy when you see them happy. When they feel happy because of the blessings you share with them, you would be happy as well. God would take away the troubles and problems from you. Abundance and plenty would come upon your possessions and your lives. One might think that he would have more if he cuts back; actually it turns back onto him as trouble and nothing good would come out of that, insha’Allah.

Surat An-Nisa; Verse 9

People should show concern in the same way that they would fear for small children if they were to die leaving them behind. They should have awe of God and say words that are appropriate.

So God tells us not to cheat them and to help them. Help whom? Look; “...small children.” Children who have no protection, handicapped children, Muslims should care for them. Muslims should try and help them having blessings and beauties.

Surat An-Nisa; Verse 10

People who consume the property of orphans wrongfully consume nothing in their bellies except fire. They will roast in a Searing Blaze.

The Qur’an shows us how to protect the orphans and the children. We need to call them to goodness and abundance by always engaging them in the path of God, on the way of Islam. We need to protect them from their ruin, we need to protect them from unbelief if they are about to fall in unbelief. It is not enough only to feed them and give them their sustenance, they need to be taught about the Qur’an, about Islam, about the fear of God and love for God or else orphans would be ruined, they cannot be saved with food. They can only be saved with faith and the Qur’an.

New Statements by Mr. Adnan Oktar (14 March 2014)

Patience is for life. We will love God for all eternity

You will only show patience for this trial for 70 years. But God will make you live happily for all eternity. Those 70 years of training, everything that you endured and showed patience would exalt you, it would make you more beautiful and radiant. Almighty God would of course test your love. He will of course see how devoted you are to God. And He will show that to you as well. You will see how much you love God. You will see how loyal you are. For instance when a person has a beloved one and he commits to his beloved one to death. He/she falls down and gets up and finds him again coming to her/his help, he falls ill and again finds him coming to her/his help, right? One would never leave his beloved one alone. God is the real Beloved One. And under no circumstance, even if 7000 years pass by, one would endure all sufferings. That is a characteristic of a lover. God likes that a lot; one shows patience for the sake of love he feels for Him. That is exactly a sign of love. What is the characteristic of a lover?  He doesn’t leave aside his beloved one despite of all sorts of sufferings, all sorts of hardships. And God shows us to which extend we carry that spirit of a lover. That is because we will take the greatest pleasure from the existence of God, His Manifestations in the Hereafter.

Explanation of various verses from Surat Al-Fussilat by Mr. Adnan Oktar

Surat Al-Fussilat; Verse 49

Man never tires of praying for the good and if evil touches him, he despairs and loses hope.

“Man never tires of praying for the good,” says God.  Meaning he constantly asks for good things, youth, health, happiness, goods and possessions, he wants to be accepted to the best schools, he wants to have a joyous life. “… and if evil touches him,” meaning if something that doesn’t serve his interests, something that bothers him happens or when he loses his money, his means or health “… he despairs and loses hope.” Meaning he says; “I will never be saved from this point on, I am done, and there is nothing that could be done for me!” He gets lost in despair. What kind of desperation is this? He doesn’t have any hope from God [May God forbid] he says; “God cannot save me from this point on.” That means, in his mind he says; “My connection to God has been severed.” That is a disaster that befalls upon a majority of people. That is a grave disaster. That is why we need to ask for perfect submission to God. We should always be asking for perfect faith and submission to God. A Muslim should constantly ask for that blessing saying; “O Lord, make me a servant of Yours with perfect faith.” That is because it is a great blessing.

Surat Al-Fussilat; Verse 51

When We grant blessing to a man, he turns away and draws aside but when any evil touches him, he is full of endless prayers!

“When We grant blessing to a man, he turns away and draws aside…” So God says that he doesn’t feel thankful and he knows that blessing as his right, doesn’t feel thankful and turns away. What is meant by turning away and drawing aside is that he doesn’t comply with the Qur’an, he doesn’t act in accordance with Islam, he doesn’t feel thankful and he doesn’t give his thanks to God. “… but when any evil touches him, he is full of endless prayers.” Normally such a person doesn’t pray to God. A Muslim constantly prays saying; “O Lord Praise be to You, thanks be to You, increase my faith, increase my knowledge, deem me successful in goodness.” God says such people do not pray to God. When does such a person pray? “… when any evil touches him, he is full of endless prayers!” For instance when an accident happens, when a scourge befalls on him, when he is in trouble, then he remembers Me, says God. “Otherwise, when I give him blessings, he turns away,” He says. From Who? Such people turn away from God when in perfect health. God says; “But when they are in trouble, they are full of endless prayers!” So God says; “I do not want this, I want them to pray to me when they are perfectly well and also when they are in trouble. I am their Lord.” Almighty God says; “I am the One Who gives all those troubles and I am the One Who will take away those troubles. I am the One Who gives them sickness, and I am the One Who heals them. Consequently they should have a constant connection to me.” God says this for all His servants, for all of us.

Surat Al-Fussilat; Verse 52

Say: "Just think. If this is from God and you deny it, who will be in greater error than he who is in open dissent?"

Say; “Just think. If this is from God and you deny it…”  Meaning if you do not accept the sufficiency of the Qur’an, if you embrace fanaticism, if you accept bigotry... “.. Just think... who will be in greater error than he who is in open dissent?” God says. This is a statement which refers to bigots and radicals. That is the statement of Almighty God. “… who will be in greater error than he who is in open dissent?” God says that radicals are the ones in greatest error by being in open dissent.  They are in open dissent; dissent from what? From the Qur’an. “Just think. If this (the Qur’an) is from God and you deny it…” How do they deny? Through superstitions. You tell them; “God said this,” and they say “No, the command of this verse has been revoked.” When you ask “how did it happen?” They say; “A goat ate it.” The other one says; “people have been made to forget.” “God made it forgotten.” The other one says; “The command of that verse has been annulled.” You say; “there is a verse about this,” they say; “verses are of no importance, but hadiths are.” [May God forbid].  Which hadiths? Made-up hadiths. They have invented a new religion with made-up, fake hadiths, and they call it Islam.  Actually, Islam is the religion taught in the Qur’an. Religion that consists of made-up hadiths cannot be called Islam. That is a polytheistic religion.

 Surat Al-Fussilat; Verse 53

We will show them Our Signs on the horizon and within themselves until it is clear to them that it is the truth. Is it not enough for your Lord that He is a witness of everything?

“We will show them Our Signs on the horizon and within themselves.” We will show them both in the outside and in themselves. “… until it is clear to them that it is the truth.”  We are at those times right now. People started to see clearly that the Qur’an is the Truth. They are seeing the facts leading to faith within themselves and they also see the events taking place in the outer world; for instance they see the incidents that take place in Syria, in Palestine. All these incidents taking place all over the world constitute the outer world and they are seeing the disasters in the outer world. People also saw that the Qur’an, the Command of God is the Truth.  When people do not live by the Qur’an, the world is dragged into a disaster. They have seen this. “Is it not enough for your Lord that He is a witness of everything?” The abjad calculation of this part gives the date 1990. That is the date all these incidents started to take place.

New Statements by Mr. Adnan Oktar (25 February 2014)

Explanations of verses from Surah Muhammad by Mr. Adnan Oktar

Surah Muhammad; Verse 36

The life of this world is merely a game and a diversion. If you have faith and piety, He will pay you your wages and not ask you for all your wealth.

“The life of this world is merely a game and a diversion.” Almighty God says that it is “vain” in that respect. “If you have faith and piety, He will pay you your wages and not ask you for all your wealth.” Almighty God says; “I am not asking for possessions.” That is because all things belong to God anyway.

Surah Mohammad; Verse 37

If He did ask you for it and put you under pressure, you would be tight-fisted and it would bring out your malevolence.

“If He did ask you for it (for all of your possessions) and put you under pressure, you would be tight-fisted…” God emphasizes this as the general character of humans. “... and it would bring out your malevolence.” Almighty God says; ‘There will be insincerity and malevolence in your hearts. If I asked for all your possessions, you might not give.’ Actually, all possessions belong to God: They will only be returning what already belongs to God. But God says; “It might be that you would not give…” Almighty God draws attention to this common disease in the character of man.

Surah Mohammad; Verse 38

“Here you are then: People who are called upon to spend in the Way of God and then some of you are tight-fisted! But whoever is tight-fisted is only tight-fisted to himself. God is Rich and you are poor. If you turn away, He will replace you with a people other than yourselves and they will not be like you.”

“Here you are then; people who are called upon to spend in the Way of God and then some of you are tight-fisted!” They take that to heart; they do not want to give. “But whoever is tight-fisted is only tight-fisted to himself.” They would only be harming themselves. God shows them such an image in their own vision. “God is Rich and you are poor…” says God. God says; “You have nothing.” “If you turn away, He will replace you with a people other than yourselves.” God says; “I will bring about another group.” “… and they will not be like you.” God says; “They will be different, they will be better.”

New Statements by Mr. Adnan Oktar (23 February 2014)

Explanations of verses from Surat As-Saba by Mr. Adnan Oktar

Surat As-Saba; Verse 18

We placed between them and the cities We had blessed other clearly conspicuous cities, making them measured stages on the way: ´Travel between them in safety by night and day’.

“We placed between them and the cities We had blessed other clearly conspicuous cities, making them measured stages on the way…” So Who is the One building these cities? God is the One Who builds cities. People might say; “Look, how beautiful the cities these people have built!” Yet God says; “I am the One Who creates them, I am the One Who builds them.” If there is city that we can talk about, God is the One Who builds it. When we look around we see that city God created. “We had blessed other clearly conspicuous cities, making them measured stages on the way: ´Travel between them in safety by night and day” So God says; “I am the One Who provides the security and I am the One Who created the roads.” This is a verse that stands against idolatry. If people do not think deeply and say “we built these cities,” it would be ascribing partners to God- May God forbid. If they attempt to say that they are the ones building roads, it would again be ascribing partners to God. If they attempt to say that they are the ones providing security; that would be ascribing partners to God as well. People should always be aware of the fact that God is the One Who does them all.

Surat As-Saba; Verse 21

He [satan] had no authority over them except to enable Us to know those who have faith in the Next World from those who are in doubt about it. Your Lord is the Preserver of all things.

God says that satan has no authority on people but is given this opportunity to differentiate those who believe in the Next World and those who are in doubt about it, to differentiate those with high conscientious ability.  God says; “We have given this weak means to the satan.”

“Your Lord is the Preserver of all things.” So God says “I see all Muslims and I watch over them. I know every single one.”

If you pay attention you will see that all these verses are against idolatry. Idolatry, ascribing partners to God is a grave scourge.  Hundreds, even thousands of verses of the Qur’an warn people against idolatry. Saying “It is not God, I am the one who did this, not God but he is the one who did that,” is what God detests the most. God says; “Know that I am the One Who creates all these so that I will increase the blessings I have bestowed upon you. But if you keep saying that you are the ones doing all those, I will cast you off and punish you.” That is because they would then be lying and showing ingratitude. That is why Almighty God does not approve such behavior.

Explanation of verses from Surah Qaf and Surat Al-Fath by Mr. Adnan Oktar

Surah Qaf; Verse 30

On the Day He says to Hell, ´Are you full?´ it will ask, ´Are there no more to come?´

This, of course, is a threat from Almighty God. People say; “Man is compassionate and merciful. God is compassionate and merciful. And He is All-Merciful.” That is right. But they say; “He would not throw His servants into  Hell.” Is God not the One Who razed nations to the ground? He is. God razed Syria to the ground. He razed Iraq to the ground, he razed Afghanistan to the ground. A hellish torture has enveloped the world right now. That means Almighty God gives such a response when what He says is not done. It is no use to plead ignorance. We need to recognize God with a plain and reasonable logic.

Surah Qaf; Verse 31

And the Garden will be brought up close to those with piety, not far away:

God says; “...the Garden will be brought up close to those with piety, not far away” That means Heaven is up close to people, insha’Allah.

Surah Al-Fath; Verse 4

It is He Who sent down serenity into the hearts of Muslims thereby increasing their faith with more faith— the legions of the heavens and the earth belong to God. God is All-Knowing, All-Wise

“It is He Who sent down serenity into the hearts” “serenity.” That means people feel at ease when they have a feeling of serenity in their hearts. Sometimes God takes away that feeling. One would go crazy. He would not be able to control himself, may God forbid, once that feeling of serenity is lost, it makes one sick. One would go see a doctor, feeling puzzled about what to do. “It is He Who sent down serenity into the hearts.” For instance, God takes away serenity from one’s heart and he says; “I feel restless.” He cannot calm down. That is because God takes away that serenity. And God says; “I am the One Who sends down serenity into the hearts” That is why serenity is a great blessing.  One might say; “I am a peaceful person, what is the big deal?” Actually, serenity is a blessing bestowed upon people. If you take it away it would devastate that person. If you take away the feeling of safety, it would devastate that person. He would feel fear for no reason. An unfounded fear would haunt him if the feeling of safety is taken away. And that is dangerous, that is a scourge. Actually the feeling of safety is a blessing bestowed upon us by God. People, everyone, all of us should appreciate it as is due.

Surat Al Fath; Verse 7

The legions of the heavens and the earth belong to God. God is Almighty, All-Wise.

God says; “The legions of the heavens and the earth belong to God.” For instance, there is Chinese army. People call it the “Chinese army”; actually it is not the Chinese army, but the army of God. The Russian army is the army of God. The Turkish army is the army of God. God uses all armies as He likes. For instance, the Syrian army is under the command of God. They all are under the command of God.  God uses them all as He likes, however He sees fit. He inflicts them upon a persecutor if He likes, He uses them to protect the wronged ones if He likes. People cannot know the Wisdom behind it, but God does. However they will understand in the Hereafter. Almighty God tells them if He likes.

Explanations of hadiths by Mr. Adnan Oktar related to Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh)

Our Prophet foretold that there will be assassination attempts on Hazret Mahdi in the End Times; there are many hadiths related to this. Our Prophet (saas) says that there will be assassination attempts on Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) by Muslims. By Muslims, those terrorist organizations are meant here. There will be assassination attacks towards Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) by terrorists like al-Qaeda and the like.

Bezzar, related from Hazrat Enes (ra) and said; “One day while the Prophet (saas) was sleeping in Ummu Seleme’s house, he woke up all of a sudden...” Our Prophet (saas) wakes up from his sleep all of a sudden in the night, and says; “Indeed we are for our Lord and we are returning to Him!” in Arabic. This is also a verse of the Qur’an. “Indeed we are for our Lord and we are returning to Him!” He says this rising up from his bed. Ummu Seleme says; “Why did you say this, O Messenger of God?”  She says, “Why did you say this?” Our Prophet (saas) demanded: “Because of a group of people coming from Iraq to look for that person(Hazrat Mahdi) from Medina “ The terrorists are coming from Iraq. They are specifically sent. “Almighty God protects that person (Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh)) from that group.” That is very clear. “… and they are sunk into the place they come to Beyda from in Zulhuleyf.” Meaning they are imprissoned or deactivated. (Hadiths from the classification of Jalalattin Suyuti, The portents of the Mahdi of End Times, Ali Bin Husameddin Al-Muttaki, p.54) This is only one of the various attempts of assassins, the attempted assassins of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh).

The hadith states; “Mahdi is with his witnesses.”  His students are his witnesses. That is many incidents take place. Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) says; “Do you remember this?” So Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) does not prove his claims with a recording but with his students. He says; “Do you remember me saying this? It happened just like I said.” “I have said this. Did it happen?” “It did.” This is what witnesses mean. It will be the same in the Hereafter as well. “We’ve talked about this. And see that it happened exactly as we said.”  He says; “Heaven is just like I have said before. Didn’t I tell you that we would sit together in the tents of Heaven?  Look, we are sitting together now.  I did tell you these with the verses, with the verses of God. And see that it happened exactly as told. Almighty God kept His Promise.  I have told you about the embroidered pillows. Here they are;  all that God says has happened exactly as He said.” Insha’Allah.

Mr. Adnan Oktar’s explanations of verses from Surah Qaf and Surat Az-Zariyat

Surah Qaf, Verse 41

Listen out for the Day when the Summoner shall call out from a nearby place;

“Listen for the Day when the Summoner shall call out from a nearby place”  Listen  for the Day when the Summoner shall call out from a nearby place.  That person calls out from a nearby place, a nearby location; maybe from the televisions in people’s houses. That is because everyone has their televisions nearby. But it says; “...a nearby place” to everyone.  That is because the verse addresses  the whole world and still  the verse says “...from a nearby location,”  insha’Allah. Although the verse refers to the Last Day, we can also clearly see that there is also a reference to Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). For instance, we are now hearing  the television. From a nearby location. Everyone is hearing from a nearby location. A Summoner; someone who summons, someone who calls out. And he calls out from a nearby place.  And God says; “Listen  for that voice.” Vestemi, listen out. That is a command of God. He commands to listen for that voice from a nearby place.

Surah Qaf, Verse 42

The Day they hear the Blast in truth, that is the Day of Emergence.

“The Day they hear the Blast in truth.” Sayha; a great sound wave. “That is the Day of Emergence.” Evet though this verse refers to the Last Day, there is also a reference to Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) here because someone’s voice is heard. It is heard everywhere, a person’s voice, a human voice is heard  everywhere in the world.  One day they will hear that great voice throughout the whole world. “...the Blast in truth, that is the Day of Emergence.” That is the day of emergence for the Muslims, it is the day of emergence for Islam, it is the day Islamic Union is declared. The verse here refers to that as well.

“The Day they hear the Blast in truth.” The whole world hears a voice. “That is the Day of Emergence.” That is, insha’Allah, the global triumph of Islam. The first meaning refers to the Last Day, but there is a clearly evident reference to the world triumph of Islam and to the emergence of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh).

Surat Adh-Dhariyat; Verses 1-5

By the scatterers scattering, and those bearing weighty loads, and those speeding along with ease, and those apportioning the command: what you are promised is certainly true

“By the scatterers scattering” this appears to be artillery fire. “...and those bearing weighty loads” that appears to refer to tanks and heavy transport aircrafts.  “...and those speeding along with ease.” This looks like jet aircrafts. These are all very meaningful. “...and those apportioning the command.” And that refers to a military hierarchy. “...what you are promised is certainly true.” What is promised to us? Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), the Prophet Jesus Messiah (pbuh) and the Last Day.

New Explanations by Mr. Adnan Oktar (29 January 2014)

Explanations of hadiths related to Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) by Mr. Adnan Oktar

It has been related by Mohammad b. Hanafi; “One day, when we were with Hazrat Ali (ra) someone asked him about Hazrat Mahdi. Ali said “Alas!” and made a sign of nine with his hand, and then he said “He will appear in the End Times, when people are told “Have fear of God, have fear of God!”   So what does this mean? It means that Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will appear when there is no fear of God in the world, when there is no belief in God, at a time when Darwinism and materialism wreaked havoc on the world. (And he continued as follows):

Just like clouds accumulate in the skies, God will gather a community around him.  What do the clouds do? For instance, one comes and unite with the other cloud and becomes a giant cumulus cloud and then comes  Hazrat Ali (ra) who likens this to the system of the Mahdi, as per the information transferred to him by our Prophet (saas).   He reconciles their hearts.  So they love one another, they become friends. Normally, people cannot easily become friends anywhere in the world. Even in communities, in organizations, hearts do not reconcile that easily. They do not feel sorry for those who are martyred among them.  That means there will be those among them who will be martyred.  And they do not rejoice over those who join them.  That is because God is the One Who sends those people to them, so in that sense, they do not feel proud about their joining.

Naim bin Hammad related from Kab and ordained; as told in Katade, Mahdi will be the most auspicious one among the people in his time. “His helpers and those who pledge allegiance to him…” His students and those who support him; “… will be among the saints of Kufa, Yemen and Damascus.” What is meant by Damascus? Actually, Istanbul is the place meant here. In all the statements related to the End Times, the center of the Islamic world has been taken into consideration. These are all places that have been accepted as  capitals of the Islamic world; Kufa, Damascus, Medina. When we hear of these, we are to know that these are the centers of the Islamic world. With the use of the world “saints” the select people, people with the character of Saints are meant.

“God dissolves blind dissensions by means of the Mahdi.” Hazrat Mahdi puts away the blind dissensions like Muslims falling out with each other, wars, conflicts, Muslims who set their hearts on the same cause picking on each other.  This is his characteristic. God makes him instrumental in that. “Everywhere becomes secure.” There will be no wars, no anarchy, and no terror anywhere in the world. Everywhere becomes secure. Being secure covers security in every aspect; safety of life, contentment of heart, everywhere being clean, well-kept and secure. For instance, if there is a building that is about to collapse, he will repair it and make it safe. Everywhere will be safe and sound; people will be safe and sound . For instance, there will not be a poisonous animal, a poisonous bug. All precautions are taken accordingly. That is what is meant by secure. For instance, now there are holes on the road children could fall in; the roads are not safe. Or there are wooden beams falling on people from the construction sites. These are not secure places. Why not? Because precautions are not taken, they don’t use their heads. At the time of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) all sorts of precautions would be taken. All precautions will be taken in every matter.

In his commentary Ibn Meduyya related the hadith from Ibn Abbas. He said ; “People of the Cave will be helpers of the Mahdi.” What does this mean? The hadith explains that Surat al-Kahf refers to Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). I have said this before as well; for instance, the hadiths state that the story of Solomon also refers to Hazrat Mahdi and that the story of Dhul’Qarnayn, the story of Talut and Goliath refers to Hazrat Mahdi. Our Prophet says that the state of the people of Al-Badr, the strategy of struggle in that war, the difficult conditions of that period refer to the system of the Mahdi.

Ibn Hajari Mekki said: “There is no contrast in between the accounts that state the helpers of the Mahdi will come from the East and the accounts that state that they will come from Iraq, because it is clearly understood from many accounts that they will be from the people of Damascus.”  What is meant here with the people of “Damascus” are actually the people of Istanbul. We are to understand that Istanbul is meant every time Damascus is mentioned. Actually the general description here fits Istanbul better; the capital of the Islamic world is meant here. What he means by “Damascus.” When we hear Basra, Kufa, Medina, Damascus we understand that the capitals of Islamic world is meant.

In his work named Favaid, Tamman and Ibn Asakir related from Abdullah b. Amr.  “He commanded, “One of the sons of Hasan (ra) Mohammad Mahdi will appear from the East even if mountains stand in front of him.” That means there will be tricks, conspiracies, opponents  that will stand in front of him like mountains; Darwinism, materialism being the leading ones. “He will crush them” with science and knowledge, “… and he will find a way in these mountains.” There is not one mountain, there are many mountains, and he finds his way among those mountains. He walks on them, walks around them. He plays with those mountains. Mountains lose their power. Mountains will remain weak and powerless in front of him.

Naim b. Hammad related from Hazrat Ali b. Abu Talib; He commanded; “Before the Mahdi, a person from the East from among the Ahl-al Bayt.”  So that means some individuals will appear before Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) who will pave the way for him. The sayyids, sharifs will serve. For instance, this hadith might refer to the community of Menzil, to Mohammad Rashid Erol; that is because he has been instrumental in the guidance of millions of people and he gave the glad tidings of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh).

“That scholar will aim for Bayt al-Maqdis (Jerusalem) but he will die before he reaches there.”  He really could not go to Jerusalem.  He wanted to go to Jerusalem but died before he reached there. Indeed that blessed person had been martyred.

Abu Davud related from Hazrat Ali (ra) and said that Our Prophet (saas) ordained; “A man will appear from the river. He will be called Harris. He will be a crusader.  Before him there will be a man who will be called Mansur and just like Qurayshis helping the Messenger of God (saas), he will help the family of Mohammad as well. It is a necessary act for every Muslim to help him.” That means there will be many scholars, many people, and many blessed people before the Mahdi that will pave the way for the system of the Mahdi.  For instance, his highness Suleyman Hilmi Tunahan, he is also a sayyid as you know. For instance, Bediuzzaman Said Nursi before everyone else. “A man appears from the river,” it says. “A man named Mansur.” May be Mansur, may be Harris, one of those is Bediuzzaman Said Nursi but a clear sign has not been given for either of them. Only for Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) very clear, hundreds of details have been given. I mean it is almost impossible not to recognize him. And there is also a crippled man who will be the contrast of the Mahdi and he can also be recognized more or less. Other than those, none of the other helpers can be identified. Apart from them, the dajjal (antichrist) has been explained in great details; Jesus Messiah (pbuh) has been explained in great detail as well and the moves that Jesus Messiah will make, the coded moves have been explained so that Jesus Messiah will be recognized from those.

Look, in many hadiths people are encouraged to look for the Mahdi “even in the snow”; that means the place Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) is living will be a region in which there will be snow. It is not a warm climate location.
