EXPLANATIONS OF VERSES FROM SURAT AL-KAHF
Surat Al-Kahf, Verse: 83
"They will ask you about Dhu'l-Qarnayn. Say: 'I will tell you something about him'."
"They will ask you about Dhu'l-Qarnayn." That is to say that they deem the name important so they ask about knowing the name. The name, Dhu'l-Qarnayn is a name that is common among Christians, Jews, everyone. So, it might be helpful to check the Torah and the Bible.
"Say: I will tell you something about him." Something about him; that means the information that will be given will not be extensive, it will just be some relevant information. What is the purpose? Advice. Firstly it will be an advice and secondly it will be a reminder. What is there to remember? The End Times. They will compare the incidents in the End Times to those in the verse and say "how similar these are" and thus, they will remember.
A STRONG RULERSHIP MUST BE BASED UPON A SOUND FAITH AND BELIEF
Surat Al-Kahf, Verse:84
We gave him power and authority on the earth and granted him a way to everything.
"We gave him power and authority on the earth." Power and authority; Weak rulership is unsettling. For it to have power and authority, it has to rely on a sound belief. No rulership can have power and authority without a sound belief, a sound faith to rely on. The rulership of Solomon (pbuh) was strong because it was built upon a sound belief. But when it consists of a mixture of various beliefs, it becomes weak. The power is divided and even though they come together, they are not as effective as the whole.
"…and granted him a way to everything." Who grants him the way? God. Who creates everything? God. So, it is not the ability of Dhul-Qarnayn himself. No one has these abilities themselves. God has given him power and authority.
Surat Al-Kahf, Verses: 85 - 86
"So he followed a way until he reached the setting of the sun and found it setting in a muddy spring and found a people by it. We said, 'Dhu'l-Qarnayn! You can either punish them or else you can treat them with gentleness'. "
"So he followed a way." A way that is shown by God. What number is the verse? 85. So that means 85-86 is when it all begins. These verses refer to years 1985 and 1986. In other words the years 1985-1986 are the ones that showed the mettle, the liveliness and strength of the system of Mahdi the most, and that the system of the Antichrist suffered the most.
"Until, when he reached the setting of the sun." So the knowledge and wisdom of the system of the Mahdi will reach everywhere. Their books, their knowledge will reach China, Japan, everywhere. It indicates that this power, this wisdom will reach the setting and the rising sun, in other words, all around the world.
'THE SUN SETTING IN A MUDDY SPRING' MENTIONED IN THE VERSE REFERS TO THE DIFFICULTIES THE SYSTEM OF THE MAHDI ENCOUNTERS
"...(he) found it setting in a muddy spring.." The ocean was like a muddy spring during the tsunami in Japan. They also showed the setting of the sun in the footage taken. It was as if the sun was setting in a muddy spring and it was a major catastrophe. The Qur'an refers to this in one aspect. The verse might also refer to the system of the Mahdi as the sun, that will be held in a dark and muddy prison for a while; I mean in a symbolic sense.
That is because he is a sun-like being; but he is in a dark and muddy place, in other words, it might be symbolizing that he will be held in a terrible place for a while. Which verse is this? 86. That means in the year 1986, something will happen against the system of the Mahdi. Maybe, the system of the Mahdi will face confinement. Maybe he will be held in a dark cell that can be described as muddy. He will be left in a tough situation in a dark and dirty cell; like confinement or isolation in a sense. But the system of the Mahdi will continue to be the 'sun'. So, it might be said that there is a reference to the year 1986 here.
" … and found a people by it. We said, 'Dhu'l-Qarnayn! You can either punish them or else you can treat them with gentleness." This means that, as the chief commander, he can resolve this issue with war and bloodshed; or he can do it with peace, friendship, love and kindness. Mahdi (pbuh) will choose to do it with love, kindness, wisdom and understanding. Naturally, he has the right to defend himself. He can lay waste to them if he choose to do so but he won't, he will resolve things with love. There is a reference to this.
Surat Al-Kahf, Verse: 87
"He said, ´As for those who do wrong, we will punish them and then they will be returned to their Lord and He will punish them with a dreadful punishment."
"He said: "As for those who do wrong, we will punish them." He does not say "we will kill them, hang them" or such. For instance, what happens when the PKK [a terrorist organization] terrorizes people? They are sent to prison. This is punishment. They are punished with prison. "… and then they will be returned to their Lord…" Eventually, these people die; but the real punishment is in the Hereafter. "… and He will punish they with a dreadful punishment." Pay attention, "a dreadful punishment." The earthly punishment pales in comparison to the punishment in Hereafter.
Surat Al-Kahf, Verse: 88
"But as for him who believes and acts rightly, he will receive the best of rewards and we will issue a command, making things easy for him."
"But as for him who believes and acts rightly, he will receive the best of rewards…" He should believe in God. How will he attain that faith? He will attain that faith with the facts leading to faith, with the miracles of Qur'an and with his conscience. What should he do then? He should be sincere. It is not possible without sincerity. Faith and sincerity is intertwined, they constitute a whole, in other words.
THERE ARE SIGNS REFERRING TO THE SYSTEM OF THE MAHDI IN THE STORY OF DHU'L-QARNAYN
" ...and we will issue a command, making things easy for him." So what will the system of the Mahdi work for? For making things easy. The Qur'an points towards this. This will be the duty of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). That is because the Qur'an tells us about an incident that happened back in time. The story of Dhu'l-Qarnayn does not tell us a story of the past and expect us to listen to it as if it was a story. God tells us that there is a warning, an example and a reminder in it. So we will remember it and then make a comparison, saying, "Look, it is exactly the same, same things are happening in the system of the Mahdi as well."
Surat Al-Kahf, Verse:89
"… Then he followed another way."
Which verse is this? The 89th. So this means that 89 is a milestone. 89, 99, 2009, 2019.
God speaks of an easiness, making things easier in 88th verse. So there will be some comfort, a relief in 88.
Surat Al-Kahf, Verse:90
"…Until he reached the rising of the sun and found it rising on a people to whom We had not given any shelter from it."
That means he will arrive at a place on a coast because there are beaches on the coasts and people wear less clothes there. Women wear more revealing clothes and men swim in shorts. So they are not given any shelter from the sun.
Surat Al-Kahf, Verse:91
"Our knowledge encompasses all that happened to him."
Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will not engage in demagogy. His words will be brief but to the point, target-oriented and erudite. He won't give long-winded speeches to sell himself. His words will be directed towards the essence of the matter; they will be erudite, short but impressive, encompassing and bringing exact solutions.
Surat Al-Kahf, Verse:92
"Then he followed a path."
The 92nd verse. So, the year 92 will be another milestone.
WE UNDERSTAND FROM SURAT AL-KAHF THAT THE SYSTEM OF THE MAHDI WILL GIVE A STRUGGLE AGAINST THE PKK
Surat Al-Kahf, Verse:93
"Until he arrived the area between the two barriers where he found a people scarcely able to understand speech."
"…two barriers…" You know that there are two barriers between the two mountainous regions there between Turkey and Iraq. There are minefields and barbed wire fences creating a barrier. There are also barriers between Syria and Turkey. That makes two sets of barriers. Meaning the Syrian and Iraqi borders. What barriers are used there? Usually, mines are used, minefields. Barbed wire fences or concrete walls are used as barriers. God says in the verse that he arrives there. Meaning, he will continue his work even in there and will fight against the system of the antichrist. So we understand that the system of the Mahdi will also give a struggle against the PKK.
The abjad calculation of this verse gives 2015. Abjad calculation gives the exact date of the present. That means the struggle against the PKK will intensify on this date. With the system of the Mahdi taking the lead, there will be an immense intensity in that struggle.
"...where he found a people scarcely able to understand speech." There is a reference to the members of PKK. They insist on speaking another language. They are careful about not speaking in Turkish, even though they can. They do not listen to what you say. You try to talk to them about the matter at hand, but they pretend not to understand. When we look at this in respect of the system of the Mahdi, the verse refers to the PKK.
GOG AND MAGOG (YAJUJ AND MAJUJ) REFERS TO THE TERRORIST MOVEMENTS AND EVENTUALLY MAHDI'S HELP WILL BE ASKED REGARDING THIS MATTER
Surat Al-Kahf, Verse: 94
"They said, 'Dhu'l-Qarnayn! Yajuj and Majuj are causing corruption in the land. Can we, therefore, pay tribute to you in return for your constructing a barrier between us and them?"
"They said, Dhu'l-Qarnayn! Yajuj and Majuj are causing corruption in the land…" So, this means Marxists and the communist crew, the members of the PKK, will cause corruption and terrorize the earth. They will inflict pain and misery upon people. It is understood that eventually, people will come to Mahdi (pbuh) and ask him to "Correct this, solve this issue."
"... Can we, therefore, pay tribute to you in return for your constructing a barrier between us and them?" They offer Mahdi (pbuh) money. The Qur'an refers to this. Yet Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) never accepts such a thing. But he sets a barrier, a spiritual barrier, a scientific, intellectual barrier; everything that will stop this terror and anarchy, including a military solution and a scientific solution; a spiritual barrier.
Brother Sungur told us: "You have been the barrier of Dhul-Qarnayn for us, and they couldn't overcome that barrier and reach us." What did he mean? He meant a spiritual barrier. The total of material and spiritual barriers are meant here. Surely, as vanguards of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), we also set a barrier of sorts against the system of the antichrist. But Mahdi (pbuh) will set the proper barrier.
Surat Al-Kahf, Verse: 95
"He said, 'The power my Lord has granted me is better than that. Just give me a strong helping hand and I will build a solid barrier between you and them."
"I am already well-off" he says. "I don't ask of you a house, a mansion, a palace, anything; nor do I want money. Just give me a strong helping hand, help me with your human strength; in other words, your words and bodies." Meaning, he says; "Help me with your military strength, strength of propaganda, strength of communication, with your radio, television."
"Just give me a strong helping hand and I will build a solid barrier between you and them." Yes, strong helping hand is military strength. "… solid barrier" is again a military barrier. Both a spiritual work and a military barrier is meant here.
Surat Al-Kahf, Verse: 96
"Bring me ingots of iron!" Then, when he had made it level between the two high mountain-sides, he said, 'Blow!' and when he had made it a red hot fire, he said, ´Bring me molten brass to pour over it.´
"Bring me ingots of iron! Then, when he had made it level between the two high mountain-sides, he said, 'Blow!" What are these ingots of iron? Tanks are ingots of iron. Cannon balls are ingots of iron. What are weapons? They also are ingots of iron. Tanks are about made up of about 60 tons of iron. Howitzer cannon balls are approximately five or ten kilos of iron. These are the heavy weapons that will be used during those times.
"... and when he had made it a red hot fire, he said, 'Bring me molten brass to pour over it." "Blow!" he says; in other words he tells them to fire. To be made into fire; because a weapon is a cold and quiet object, but when it is fired, it blows fire and flames out of its mouth. The enemy is then neutralized as a result. There is reference to that in a sense. He says, "Bring me molten brass to pour over it." This means that he will strengthen the system and put it into order. It is understood that there will be a second barrier over the system after this struggle. "Brass" is from copper. So there is a reference to another electronic barrier that will be built and to electronic precautions that will be taken.
Surat Al-Kahf, Verse: 97
"They were, therefore, unable to climb over it nor were they able to make a breach in it."
It means that he built such a solid defense and caused such destruction upon the PKK that no one can overcome it again, nor they have a system that can penetrate it. So, the system is absolute. The system of the antichrist, in other words the mentality of the PKK, of Pharaoh is wiped out.
Surat Al-Kahf, Verse: 98
"He said, 'This is a mercy from my Lord. But when my Lord´s promise comes about, He will crush it flat. The promise of my Lord is surely true'."
"God is the One Who makes everything happen", he says. "He made this happen too," he says. "Mercy" is a beauty of the love of God, it is created by God. And the verse points out that when the time comes, neither PKK, nor the military measures, systems developed to against the PKK will remain. None will remain, all will perish. The verse refers to this. The verse mentions the Last Day and says that the Last Day is very close, from that we understand that there is a reference to the system of the Mahdi. If there is a reference to the Last Day, it means that there are also references to the system of the Mahdi and the End Times. The Last Day is always mentioned at the end of the subjects about Gog and Magog, or the Dabbe. That is the case throughout the Qur'an. It is also this way for the appearance of ad-Dukhan.
THE APPEARANCE OF AD-DUKHAN IS ALL KINDS OF ECONOMICAL, POLITICAL, SOCIAL CRISIS AND PROBLEMS THAT HAPPENS IN THE WORLD
The appearance of ad-Dukhan refers to anarchy, terror, profligacy and depression of all kinds that is going on in the world. That is what the appearance of the smoke mentioned in the verse refers to, it is not the smoke in a literal sense. Meaning a great depression, unrest, an economic crisis, anarchy, terror, problems of all kind.
Surat Al-Kahf, Verse: 99
"We will abandon them, that Day, to pound against each other in surging waves and the Trumpet will be blown and We will gather them all together."
The unbelievers will be resurrected and rise from their graves. This is what is meant in the verse; "...pound against each other in surging waves." There will be an inconceivable crowd. And at the end, they will run towards a destination. "Like a locust herd" it says in the verse. "They will surge over each other, pound against each other in surging waves like a locust herd does". This is the Last Day; their state during their resurrection on the Last Day.
Surat Al-Kahf, Verse: 100
"That Day We will display Hell in its totality to the unbelievers"
Our Lord also tells us about the kind of retribution unbelievers will be given. Hell will embrace them all around.
Surat Al-Kahf, Verse:101
"…those whose eyes were blind to My remembrance and whose ears were unable to hear."
Because the PKK is a faithless, irreligious, Godless, Bookless, communist-minded organization, the Qur'an draws attention to the earlier state of this mentality on the earth.
"… whose ears were unable to hear." Are they able to hear right now? You cannot talk about religion. You cannot go to Mardin, you cannot go to Siirt, they don't let you talk about religion, they don't let you talk about God. They do not allow you to talk about the right and the truth. The ones who try to talk about these are attacked with guns.
Surat Al-Kahf, Verse: 102
"Do those who are unbelievers imagine that they can take My servants as protectors instead of Me? We have prepared Hell as hospitality for the unbelievers!"
For example, they take Abdullah Öcalan [Founder and leader of the PKK] as allies instead of God. They regard him as a deity (surely God is beyond such claims). Even he says that; "I became a deity." So they regard Öcalan as a deity, abide by him and listen to his every word. The meaning of the verse is clear in a way.
"We have prepared Hell as hospitality for the unbelievers!" So to make Muslims feel at ease, God says that He will take His revenge. The unbelievers have no power, eventually they will all end up in Hell. That is why God says, "Give good news to those." He says, "I will make them stay in Hell and take My revenge in there and engulf them in flames of hell."
Surat Al-Kahf, Verse:103-104
"Say: ´Shall I inform you of the greatest losers in their actions? People whose efforts in the life of the world are misguided while they suppose that they are doing good'."
"People whose efforts in the life of the world are misguided while they suppose that they are doing good." For instance, these members of the PKK, this crew of heathens make a great effort and believe that they act incisively and they are right in their efforts. Moreover, they really believe that they are heroes, that they are courageous, that they save people. This verse of the Qur'an draws attention to this point.
Surat Al-Kahf, Verse: 105
Those are the people who reject their Lord´s Signs and the meeting with Him. Their actions will come to nothing and, on the Day of Rising, We will not assign them any weight.
Actually they openly say that they do not believe and reject God's Signs and His verses.
ALL THE DEEDS OF THE UNBELIEVERS WILL BECOME WORTHLESS
"… Their actions will come to nothing and, on the Day of Rising, We will not assign them any weight." Of course, everything they did becomes worthless. They spend all of their life on mountains, in misery but in the end it is all for nothing. What God means by "We will not assign them any weight," is that their acts will not be accounted because their misdeeds are in the open, so God says "I will put them straight into hell".
Surat Al-Kahf, Verse: 106
"That is their repayment — Hell — because they were unbelievers and made a mockery of My Signs and of My Messengers."
You see that they ridicule prayers, they ridicule the Qur'an and the prophets (May God forbid). So God says, "I will put you all in Hell to recompense for your deeds."
Surat Al-Kahf, Verse:107
"Those who have faith and do right actions will have the Gardens of Firdaws as hospitality,"
Those who act with the spirit of the system of the Mahdi, their place is Heaven. Gardens of Firdaws, Gardens of Adn.
Surat Al-Kahf, Verse:108
"Remaining in them timelessly, for ever, with no desire to move away from them."
