REMARKS BY MR. ADNAN OKTAR ON VERSES FROM SURAH IBRAHIM AND SURAH YUNUS
Surah Ibrahim, 5
We sent Moses with Our Signs: ‘Bring your people from the darkness to the light, and remind them of the Days of God.’ There are certainly Signs in that for everyone who is steadfast, thankful.
This is also mentioned in Shiite sources. It means remind them of the day of God, remind them that the Mahdi (pbuh) will come, remind them of those days. Insha’Allah.
Surah Ibrahim, 7
And when your Lord announced: “If you are grateful, I will certainly give you increase, but if you are ungrateful, My punishment is severe.”
"I will cause war, and rebellion and civil war. I will cause aggression and economic crises. I will ruin you," God says. There are people who say; “Are these things happening?” They even say that as they lie in their hospital beds. Their own families all wiped out. It has happened, you are living through it, but you are unaware. Have a look at the state of the world, of the Islamic world. And you will understand.
Surah Ibrahim, 8
Moses said, ‘If you were to be ungrateful, you and everyone on the earth, God is Rich Beyond Need, Praiseworthy.’
Look, this indicates the system of the dajjal(antichrist). The prophet Moses (pbuh) is foretelling the disaster that will happen in the End Times. His Mahdi is sufficient. Almighty God imposes His glory with the Mahdi, on the whole world, with His title of Jabbar.
Surah Ibrahim, 13
Those who were unbelievers said to their Messengers, ‘We will drive you from our land unless you return to our religion.’ Their Lord revealed to them, ‘We will destroy those who do wrong."
Some people ask what will happen in Syria. God says He will destroy the wicked. They ask what will happen in Egypt. God says He will destroy the wicked.
Surah Ibrahim, 14
We will leave you the land to live in after them. That is the reward of those who fear My station and fear My threat.’
And after them and before them. Because they are destroyed. What is this desire for the land of yours? The world. God tells us the place. The land. He says He will let them settle there. Definitely. “We will leave you the land to live in after them,” says God. For those who fear God, not those who love Him. “I love God,” some people say. When asked if they fear God, they respond; “No.” If you do not fear Him you will lose your senses. One’s free will is compromised. “I love God,” he says. And then how do you behave? In selfishness, egotism, greed and aggression. Can someone who fears God do those things? No. Can someone who fears God tell lies? No. But one can do it with love of God. “I love God,” he says. “So how can you do these things?” we ask. He says; “God will forgive me.” “How do you know?” we ask and he says; “Because I love God.” Look, he has no fear of God. He could do anything, may God forbid, because he has no fear of God. God says this is a reward of those who fear His threat. If people fear God, He regards them as believers and grants them blessings. God does not speak of those who love Him. In that case, God would say, “It is enough for them to love Me.” But God does not say that. God always insists on fear of Him. When one fears Him, the result is perfect moral values. Because one will not lie, behave basely, trick people or be proud and arrogant. How can someone who fears God be proud? But one can be both proud and arrogant if one does not fear God. One may also be disloyal. One says, “I love you very much.” Fine, may God be pleased. But do you have loyalty? No. Patience? No. Affection? No. Telling lies? Yes. Selfishness? Yes. Envy? Yes. Jealousy? Yes. You do all those; So? “I love you,” the person says. What is that love like? Like a huge void. It has no basis. But a person who fears God says, “I love you.” He is modest and loving and respectful and obedient and true-speaking. Loyalty is a blessing for him. That is real love then. A love that is full. The other love is empty.
Surah Ibrahim, 15
They [the prophets] asked for God's victory, and every obdurate tyrant failed.
Imams and mahdis. They asked for victory. Victory from God. In other words, they asked for the global reign of Islam, for the honor of Islam to reign across the world. For the moral values, beauty, love, esthetic understanding, conception of democracy and freedom of Islam to reign across the world; that is what victory means here. Then at the end, every obdurate tyrant failed. What does tyrant mean? Someone who tries to get results through force and arms. God does not call people who try to get results through love tyrants. God does not say that people who get results through reason and democracy are. Whom does He refer to as tyrants? Those who use force. God says that people who try to get results through the use of arms and violence, by terror, by frightening and bombing, by killing and murdering, through military means, are tyrants. If you send troops in against the innocent, you are a tyrant. If you send the police in against the innocent, you are a tyrant. But if you do everything according to the law, lawfully, you are not a tyrant. They send the troops in against the people in Syria, and that is tyranny. Is that democratic? No. They are behaving tyrannically. They crush people with troops. They crush them tyrannically, with the police, in Egypt. Is this lawful? No. The military and the police have a duty to protect justice, the law, the truth, goodness and beauty. They cannot do this by being a tool in the hands of despots. They asked for God’s victory, and every obdurate tyrant failed.
God is saying that they were destroyed.
Surah Ibrahim, 24
Do you do not see how God makes a metaphor of a good word: a good tree whose roots are firm and whose branches are in heaven?
...An excellent thing to say. Like a fine tree. With its roots firm and its branches in the sky. Passages of this kind also appear in the Torah and the Injil. So revelation does not change. The commandments of revelation do not change. We look at the Torah and the Injil and they say the same thing. Pure revelation and God’s commands never change, insha’Allah.
Surah Yunus, 36
Most of them follow nothing but conjecture. Conjecture is of no use whatsoever against the truth. God most certainly knows what they are doing.
It is all speculation with most of them. We look at the bigots – speculation. The extremists – conjecture. We look at the Darwinists, all speculation and guesswork. There need to be definite facts. What can one do with conjecture? Nothing at all. God certainly knows what they are up to.
Surah Yunus, 41
If they deny you, say, ‘I have my actions and you have your actions. You are not responsible for what I do and I am not responsible for what you do.’
If they oppose you with lies, which is what Darwinists, materialists and fundamentalists do. They are always lying and in opposition. "I have my actions and you have your actions." In other words, live and let live. What is this? It is the essence of democracy. They say there is no democracy in the Qur’an. “You are not responsible for what I do and I am not responsible for what you do.” He does not say He will punish you for things for which you are not responsible, God says that you are not responsible for the actions of others. This does not require any conflict.
Surah Yunus, 47
Every nation has a Messenger and when their Messenger comes everything is decided between them justly. They are not wronged.
Every community has a Messenger, a Mahdi, an envoy. What is the abjad value? 2021. It gives just one figure; 2021. The total value of the letters is 2021. Every nation. Muslims are a nation. “Every nation has a Messenger…” 2021 is when their Messenger will come. He will rule among them justly, and no injustice will be inflicted on them. Look, justice is what Almighty God concentrates on most of all. When the Mahdi (pbuh) comes, what will his main task be? To be just. A vast justice will rule the world. Justice is the greatest comfort. You will be ruined in the absence of justice.
Surah Yunus, 48
They say, ‘When will this promise be kept if you are telling the truth?’
“When is the Mahdi (pbuh) coming? When is Jesus Messiah (pbuh) coming? Tell us,” they say. When will the Day of Reckoning come? Look, they are very interested. Not because they want to do anything, but they still want to know. They ask this out of an instinctive curiosity.2013-10-03 05:27:44
