The mind becomes clearer when God is praised, otherwise a person's brain would become numb

Look, God says; "And Zakariyya, when he called out to his Lord, 'My Lord, do not leave me on my own'."  How does he look for a solution for this? With God.  See what he says: ".. do not leave me on my own," that is a sign of wisdom.  And he praises God saying: "You are the Best of Inheritors." Now, when one praises God, when one submits to God, his mind becomes clearer: Otherwise a person's brain would become numb. It would become abnormal. When God is praised the pressure in  one's brain would be relieved. When one prays to God the pressure in his brain would be relieved. Otherwise his brain would  shut down. The brain closes its doors. One loses sanity and becomes insane. It makes one sick. They get themselves into trouble that would bring them new kinds of diseases. They go and say it here and there, and become overwhelmed with grief. They try and make others upset and get themselves in all sorts of different troubles.

Being in a race in good deeds is a sign of wisdom

"We responded to him.." God always responds to prays. See? It is all from God. ".. and gave him Yahya (John), restoring for him his wife's fertility." So God says 'I can change your health if I like, I can make you younger and more beautiful.'

".. They outdid one another in good actions.." Being in a race of good actions is a sign of wisdom. How do we do that for instance? We have written a book and the other one says, "I will write two," and the other says, "I will write three," while the other one says, "I will write four." They are outdoing one another in good actions. That opens one's mind. Being in a race in good deeds, outdoing each other in good actions; competing with each other in that sense opens one's mind. It brings about abundance, radiance and beauty. "..  calling out to Us in yearning and in awe, and humbling themselves to Us." Look; there is hope in this, not desperation. And they are in awe, humbling themselves to God. One needs to fear God and be in awe. It is not acceptable not to be in awe and not fearing God.

Explanations from Surat Al-Anbiya and Surat Al-Kahf by Mr. Adnan Oktar

Surat Al-Anbiya; Verse 91

And she (Maryam) who protected her private parts. We breathed into her some of Our Spirit and made her and her son a Sign for all the worlds.

" And she (Maryam) who protected her private parts. We breathed into her some of Our Spirit," says God. That is the  Spirit of God. That means this is not the case for everyone. God does that for those He wills. God mentions women's protecting their private parts as a beauty and superiority and as a sign of wisdom.  So a woman who has intercourse with men in an unlawful manner would lose her purity; but if one does so with her lawful spouse, it would be like a religious service. "We breathed into her some of Our Spirit and made her and her son a Sign for all the worlds." That means her son, Jesus Messiah, is an example, a beauty to the whole world.

Surat Al-Anbiya, Verse 92

"This nation of yours is one nation and I am your Lord, so worship Me."

"This nation of yours is one nation.."  So God says that our nation should not be divided into religious communities, sects. It is one nation. ".. and I am your Lord, so worship Me."

Surat Al-Anbiya, Verse 93

"But they disagreed and split into different sects. Each one will return to Us."

"But they disagreed and split into different sects"; they split into different sects, communities, different sections. Just like it is right now, look how God explains this corruption of the End Times in such detail in the Qur'an.

The portents of the End Times are explained in the Qur'an, sometimes in a concealed, and sometimes in an explicit manner. For instance, this is a portent of the End Times that has been referred to in a concealed manner: That is because this was not the case in the time of our Prophet (saas). Muslims did not disagree and split into different sects, they were in unity. There was one single nation. There were no different sects, communities or orders. When asked; "Where are the Muslims?" they were pointed out altogether. There was one single Muslim group. They have had their imam; our Prophet (saas). They were one single group of Muslims. However, in reference to the End Times God says; "But they disagreed and split into different sects." Some of them on one side, some on the other side. "Each one will return to US," says God.

Surat Al-Kahf; Verse 1

"Praise belongs to God Who has sent down the Book to His servant and has put no crookedness in it."

There is no crookedness, no shortcoming, no conflict in the Qur'an: That is a miracle. The Qur'an does not contravene science, verses do not contravene with other verses, it doesn't contravene the historical course of events. All the information given is confirmed in time. That is the miracle of the Qur'an, Alhamdulillah.

Surat Al-Kahf; Verse 2

"It is straight, to warn of violent force direct from Him, and to give the good news to Muslims, those who do right actions, that for them there is an excellent reward."

The Qur'an is straight, there are no lies in it. "..to warn of violent force direct from Him, and to give the good news to Muslims, those who do right actions.." God warns people but also gives good news to Muslims. ".. to give the good news to Muslims, those who do right actions, that for them there is an excellent reward." God gives good news to Muslims.

Surat Al-Kahf, Verse 3

"..  a place in which they will remain for ever,"

That is Heaven. There is an instinct for desiring the infinity in humans. That is the strongest instinct they have. God says that Muslims will remain in Heaven forever.

Surat Al-Kahf, Verse 4

".. and to warn those who say God has a son."

So that means God also warns the Christians.

Surat Al-Kahf, Verse 5

"They have no knowledge of this, neither they nor their fathers. It is a monstrous utterance which has issued from their mouths. What they say is nothing but a lie."

"They have no knowledge of this, neither they nor their fathers." There is no rhyme or reason for such a claim. Their fathers did not have such knowledge and there is no such thing in the Torah either.  God says; "...neither they nor their fathers," have knowledge of this says God. "It is a monstrous utterance which has issued from their mouths. What they say is nothing but a lie." God says that they are lying and that there is no such thing.

Surat Al-Kahf, Verse 6

"Perhaps you may destroy yourself with grief, chasing after them, if they do not have faith in these words. "

If people with this personality, this mentality, do not believe in the Qur'an  "Perhaps you may destroy yourself with grief chasing after them." Our Prophet (saas) was grieving a lot and was very disturbed by this but God forbids it to our Prophet (saas).

Surat Al-Kahf, Verse 7

"We made everything on the earth adornment for it so that We could test them to see whose actions are the best."

There is a good action and there is one even better. There is always looking for the most of God's good pleasure in everything, insha'Allah.

Surat Al-Kahf, Verse 9

"Do you consider that the Companions of the Cave and Ar-Raqim were one of the most remarkable of Our Signs?"

So that means they are remarkable: The Companions of the Cave and Ar-Raqim. The Companions of Ar-Raqim are always somewhat concealed, only the Companions of the Cave are talked about. Actually there are two separate groups here; there are also the Companions of Ar-Raqim.

Surat Al-Kahf, Verse 10

"When the young men took refuge in the cave and said, 'Our Lord, give us mercy directly from You and open the way for us to right guidance in our situation'. "

"...the young men," that means all of them are young; both the Companions of Ar-Raqim and the Companions of the Cave consist of young people  but generally the Companions of the Cave are more emphasized. The Companions of Ar-Raqim are not mentioned that much. The Companions of Ar-Raqim refer to the students  of the Prophet Jesus (pbuh) and the Companions of Al-Kahf refer to the students of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). "When the young men took refuge in the cave and said, 'Our Lord, give us mercy directly from You and open the way for us to right guidance in our situation'." This means that they are altogether in the cave, they are always together. They are in unity.

Surat Al-Kahf, Verse 11

"So We sealed their ears with sleep in the cave for a number of years."

That means they are living but they are living in a state of sleep. We are in a state of sleep right now as well. Life is a sort of sleep and we are dreaming. When we die, we will be awakening from this sleep.

Surat Al-Kahf, Verse 12

"Then We woke them up again so that We might see which of the two groups would better calculate the time they had stayed there."

"...which of the two groups," God mentions two groups, not one group. It would be very odd to pretend not to understand this. "Then we woke them up again so that We might see which of the two groups would better calculate the time they had stayed there." Both the Companions of Ar-Raqim and the Companions of the Cave are sleeping. Both will be woken up. The Prophet Jesus Messiah (pbuh) is in sort of a spiritual sleep in the Sight of God right now. He has been taken to the Sight of God in a state of sleep.

Surat Al- Kahf, Verse 13

"We will relate their story to you with truth. They were young men who had faith in their Lord and We increased them in guidance."

Guidance; the system of the Mahdi is the Manifestation of God's Name Al-Hadi (The Guide).

Surat Al-Kahf, Verse 14

"We fortified their hearts when they stood up and said, 'Our Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and We will not call on any god apart from Him. We would in that case have uttered an abomination. "

"We fortified their hearts," that is a characteristic of the students of the Mahdi; fortitude and determination. Bediuzzaman says patience and determination are their two main characteristics .  "We fortified their hearts." When they stood up against the system of the dajjal (antichrist) ".. when they stood up and said; "Our Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and we will not call on any god apart from Him." We do not believe in Darwinism or materialism.  "We would in that case (if we say anything otherwise) have uttered an abomination." That would not be reasonable, that would not be right; it would be wrong.

Surat Al-Kahf, Verse 15

" These people of ours have taken gods apart from Him. Why do they not produce a clear authority concerning them? Who could do greater wrong than someone who invents a lie against God? "

"These people of ours," these people in our community, "...have taken gods apart from Him." That means that in the End Times people will take gods apart from God, they will believe in Darwinism and materialism. "Why do they not produce a clear authority concerning them?" We, for instance, have been asking for evidence and they fail to produce any, insha'Allah. God says; "Who could do greater wrong than someone who invents a lie against God?"  God says that is a grave cruelty.

Surat Al Kahf, Verse 25

"They stayed in their Cave for three hundred years and added nine. "

Here, there is a reference to the number of the students of Hazrat Mahdi(pbuh). There is an activity going on for the last 300 years. Until 1506 with the Hijri calendar, when we look at the total, everything will take place and come to an end in these last 300 years until 1506. These developments will take place in the last 300 years: Both the corruption and the correction will take place in these 300 years. "...and added nine (years)"

Surat Al-Kahf, Verse 26

"Say: 'God knows best how long they stayed. The Unseen of the heavens and the earth belongs to Him. How perfectly He sees, how well He hears! They have no protector apart from Him. Nor does He share His rule with anyone'."

"Say; 'God knows best how long they stayed'." That means God says that there is no knowledge to state that they have stayed there 309 years. "The Unseen of the heavens and the earth belongs to Him. How perfectly He sees, how well He hears! They have no protector apart from Him." Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) and his students; Muslims have no protector apart from God either. "Nor does He share His rule with anyone." God says, when Almighty God wills something, He does that.

Surat Al-Kahf, Verse 27

"Recite what has been revealed to you of your Lord´s Book. No one can change His Words. You will never find any safe haven apart from Him. "

"Recite what has been revealed to you of your Lord's Book." That means do not step outside the Book, act only according to the Qur'an.  "Recite what has been revealed to you of your Lord's Book. No one can change His Words."  The Qur'an will never change until the Last Day. Some people say, "The Qur'an has changed," when God says, "It will not change."  Furthermore, radicals will not be able to change the command of God by making additions to the Qur'an. That is also what this verse means. "No one can change His Words." Islam will prevail just as God willed it, just like it was in the time of the Companions of our Prophet (saas). There is a reference here. "You will never find any save haven apart from Him." Apart from God, there is no safe haven to protect Muslims.

Surat Al-Kahf, Verse 28

"Restrain yourself patiently with those who call on their Lord morning and evening, desiring His face. Do not turn your eyes from them, desiring the attractions of this world. And do not obey someone whose heart We have made neglectful of Our remembrance and who follows his own whims and desires and whose life has transgressed all bounds. "

"Restrain yourself patiently with those who call on their Lord morning and evening, desiring His face." Our Prophet (saas) performed his prayers once in the morning and once in the evening. This was how it was at first. They were performing two rakat prayers, once in the morning and once in the evening; that was the case for years. Later on it changed. "Restrain yourself patiently with those who call on their Lord." Restrain yourself with those who perform their prayers and pray. "Do not turn your eyes from them, desiring the attractions of this world." Circles  of friends, possessions, money, food, drinks, wealth, fame. "Do not turn your eyes from them, desiring the attractions of this world." Your eyes should always be on the Muslims. That means do not separate your way from them, be with them, see them all the time, keep them constantly in your sight. It means loving them by seeing them. For instance, the Companions of our Prophet (saas) used to see our Prophet (saas) every single day. They did not disappear and go away from time to time. They only left his side for very imperative reasons.  Otherwise they were all with him all the time. When they looked at his eyes, when they looked at his face, they found abundance and relief. It would be enough for them to be eye-to-eye with him just for two seconds. They would be taking their remedy from his eyes, that spiritual remedy. "And do not obey someone whose heart We have made neglectful of Our remembrance and who follows his own desires and whose life has transgressed all bounds.'' That means, do not leave Muslims by forming friendships with those who have forgotten God, who have neglected the Qur'an, with those who do not live by Islam. Your own circle of friends, those you should commit to, are Muslims only.  God says "show your love to them."

There will be many people who will leave the side of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). Why? Because of their love this world and the attractions of this world. Our Prophet (saas) says that there will be three big break-outs. He even defines those as "quakes". He says that "no one other than the sincere Muslims will remain in Medina." Only genuine Muslims will remain by his side.

Surat Al-Kahf, Verse 29:

"Say: 'It is the truth from your Lord; so let whoever wishes have faith and whoever wishes be in disbelief.'  We have prepared for the wrongdoers a Fire whose billowing walls of smoke will hem them in. If they call for help, they will be helped with water like seething molten brass, frying their faces. What a noxious drink! What an evil repose! "

"Say; "It is the truth from your Lord; so let whoever wishes have faith and whoever wishes be in disbelief." Look, this is another reflection of democracy, of freedom of thought in this verse. They are all free: There is no compulsion. "We have prepared for the wrongdoers a Fire.." the punishment is in the Hereafter, there is no intervention in this world. There is no punishment in this world. "We have prepared for the wrongdoers a Fire whose billowing walls of smoke will hem them in. If they call for help, they will be helped with water like seething molten brass, frying their faces." That is a different kind of water, a heavy water. "What a noxious drink! What an evil repose!" God explains the types of torments that they will suffer through to scare those who rebel against Him.  We do not know what this is for instance. God says; "...they will be helped with water like seething molten brass frying their faces." They are suffering in pain when this water is poured upon them but these people are also speaking in hell. Furthermore, they even dare to act tactless in that environment. This is not like any place we know; it is not like what we might visualize in our minds, it is a different place which makes people unhappy and disturbed.

Surat Al-Kahf, Verse 31

"They will have Gardens of Eden with rivers flowing under them. They will be adorned in them with bracelets made of gold and wear green garments made of the finest silk and rich brocade, reclining there on couches under canopies. What an excellent reward! What a wonderful repose! "

"They will have Gardens of Eden with rivers flowing under them. They will be adorned in them with bracelets made of gold and wear green garments made of the finest silk and rich brocade.." Look, do you see the quality of the world God wants for Muslims? There are good bracelets, green garments made of the finest silk and rich brocade, they are all high quality. ".. reclining there on couches under canopies." These are not ordinary things to sit on, these are couches under canopies. Some people say we should sit on the floor, yet God mentions couches under canopies. Alright, you may sit on the floor if you feel like it, but that can never be imperative.
