Zeit Online, the web site of Die Zeit, Germany’s most widely read daily, carried an article on 26 November, 2008, titled "Why Is the Theory of Evolution Invalid?" in its “daily quotes” section. The report contained the following information about the scientific competition being held by the Science Research Foundation:

Whoever answers this question will have the opportunity to win a very large prize in a very short space of time. The Turkish-Muslim creationist Harun Yahya is offering a $64,000 prize in an essay contest he has set up. Why? 

“The purpose of this competition is to raise young people’s awareness of Darwinism, which has inflicted immense damage on mankind and to put them on their guard against this terrible fraud in science.”
