Highlights from Mr. Adnan Oktar's interview on 3 August 2012

Our brothers and sisters, all around the world, should be persistent in their efforts to make love reign in the world. Some people prefer selfishness, egotism, holding grudges and hatred over love. It’s the same everywhere. For example a loving person ends up saying: ‘I was once full of love, but look what they’ve done to me’. That’s outrageous. How could you say something like that? How can anyone make you make a choice like that? You are a supporter of Allah. You should be full of love until the end of your life. For example, many politicians are loveless, egotistical, selfish, aggressive, conspiring and cold.   For example, some religious communities as well, their members are loveless, full of hatred. Lovelessness, hatred is all around the world. To counter that, Muslims should focus on what Allah really wants.  Allah wants people to love Him, and for love to reign in the world. If you love Him, you would willingly obey Him. If love, you are sincere. Insincerity has enveloped the world together with lovelessness because without love, there cannot be sincerity. If one fears Allah, he will love  Allah as well.  If one loves  Allah, he will fear Allah as well. And a person fearing Allah will naturally be a sincere, honest person, while an insincere person will not know anything about love.

Believing in the coming of Jesus is an obligation. It is a requirement of Islamic faith. It is one of the basic tenets of faith in the Shi'a school, it’s a matter of faith. Coming of Mahdi, return of Jesus, they are the facts mentioned in authentic hadiths. How do you treat an authentic hadith? It is an obligation to believe in it. However, the allegorical hadiths are different, you can’t know the meaning.

Radicalism does exist. Radicals are the idolators mentioned in the Qur'an. The Qur'an tells us all about them. How loveless, how ugly, how amoral they are. Then there are the hypocrites. Hypocrites are the people who preach one thing and practice another. In other words, they are the phony Muslims. A crook who comes in the disguise of a Muslim is called a hypocrite. Fake Nur students? There are the real Nur students, and then there are the fake Nur students. I know perfectly well who those fake Nur students are, their connections, how they are determined to destroy Islam. They want a ‘Nur view without Bediüzzaman, an Islam without the Qur'an’. We will not allow that to happen.

Whoever sheds Muslim blood, that is a murderer. It doesn’t matter if he is a Jew, or a Christian or a Muslim. Radicals also shed Muslim blood. Terrorists, crazy radicals; they also kill Muslims, even burn them alive. If any Jews do that, then they are just as foul. If any Christian does that, the same thing goes for him, as well. It doesn’t matter if it is a Muslim, or a Communist, whoever is doing those atrocities, they are just as despicable. It doesn’t matter who does it.

When I say Jews are my brothers and sisters, and that they are very loving, I’m talking about the real Jews. They are in love with Allah, loyal to Prophet Moses (pbuh) and they even accept that Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) was a prophet. That’s who I’m talking about.  He says, ‘I am a Jew, but I accept that Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) was a prophet’. So what does this mean? That makes him a Muslim. He says ‘I accept that the Qur'an was sent by Allah.’

Our Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) had a Jewish wife. She was honest, she had a great character. Our Prophet would praise her. He also had a Christian wife too, whom he praised on many occasions, as well.

(Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu recently said, ‘We want to restore the relations between the two important countries in this unstable part of the world.'  Netanyahu said that the Turks and Jews had a longstanding relationship and said that they were looking for a magical formula that will put things right and help the parties get over the Mavi Marmara crisis. We are open to any suggestions, but the formula has to respect the dignity of both countries, he said.)

We shouldn’t focus on that too much. Rather we should focus on sincerity. What does Torah say about it? What does the Qur'an say about it? That’s the spirit we have to have. Yes, there is national pride, but compassion, love, mercy, friendship are more important than that. Why would national pride be something that conflicts with compassion or with love? Why would loving, humane actions be something that stop that? That depends on how you see it. Someone might see it as a blow to national pride, while another one takes it as a goodness of character. For example, apologizing is a superior action. Another one says, ‘I’ll be humiliated if I apologize’. Doesn’t make any sense.
