Copenhagen Municipality approved the first mosque to be built in Copenhagen. The decision was made while Rasmussen, Danish Secretary General of NATO was visiting Turkey.
Copenhagen city council gave the green light to the Country’s first mosque’s to be raised. The City Council in which the left wing parties hold the majority, voted in favour of approving the construction.
"With this decision, we hope that this mosque will contribute actively in showing that Copenhagen is a diverse city. The city has a synagogue, a Russian (Orthodox) church, and it is natural for it to also have a mosque," said the deputy mayor of Copenhagen, Klaus Bondam.
