PROF. HOOSHANG AMIRAHMADI: Well, I wanted to learn a little bit about you, about your endeavor.
ADNAN OKTAR: My aim is to bring about peace, brotherhood, tranquility, justice and democracy in the region by establishing a Turkish-Islamic Union, and to put an end to tension, conflict and terror. It is for America, Russia, China and the whole region to live in brotherhood, peace and tranquility.
PROF. HOOSHANG AMIRAHMADI: That's a good cause, I do congratulate you for the good cause. I wish you good luck.
ADNAN OKTAR: Thank you.
PROF. HOOSHANG AMIRAHMADI: I have been involved in building peace between the United States and Iran for almost 25 years. I have established an organization called American-Iranian Council which is focused on USA-Iran relations.
PROF. HOOSHANG AMIRAHMADI: And I think the most important relation, currently, as far as peace goes, is this USA-Iran relations, because if that relation goes wrong, God forbid, if there is a war between Iran and the USA, or between Israel and Iran, the whole of the Middle East will get into a mess for some time. And obviously, I know that our Turkish brothers will also be very uncomfortable to see such an eventuality, so I have been trying to gather support from everybody who is for peace. And obviously I am going to have call upon you, Mr. Adnan Oktar, today to help establish a communication between your government and the U.S. government, as well as Iranian as mediator. And you could also perhaps help propagate peace and understanding between the two nations, Iran and the USA, and of course, including the Turks in the middle.
ADNAN OKTAR: We have been taking initiatives on this for some time now, but the question is this: Our Jafari brothers in Iran have a belief; the belief in the invisible Mahdi. The belief in a Mahdi who can be seen on a wall, as a light, or also in human form, who can enter everyone's home, or whose voice can do so. The belief that anything is possible if this Mahdi gives the command. This is a huge danger. That is Iran's sole problem. If Iran is to change that belief into a reasonable idea of a Mahdi born to a mother and a father, and if it abandons this belief in an apparition or hallucination, and changes this belief into one of a Mahdi born of normal parents, who is a virtuous person descended from our Prophet (saas), as this is the truth, that will put an end to the problem. Otherwise, this belief in the [invisible] Mahdi could trigger disaster at any moment or cause terrible bloodshed. Indeed, the films produced by Iran, produced by our brothers, refer to a Mahdi who sheds blood unending and say that this Mahdi has been in a well for hundreds of years, that he has been out of sight for more than 1,000 years, but that he can appear to people in the form of an apparition. What would happen if the Chief of the Iranian General Staff said that this [invisible] Mahdi had appeared to him and commanded him to destroy such and such a country? Would he, the Chief of the Iranian General Staff not obey if that [invisible] Mahdi told him to destroy Turkey, for instance, or some other country? Would the Iranian head of state not obey? Would the Iranian government not obey? This is the problem we have. I have invited my [Iranian] brothers here to try and resolve it. I invited scholars who hold conferences regarding the Mahdi. They can easily resolve it if there is no reluctance among them.
ADNAN OKTAR: I speak with leading Jews. In the next few days, some very, very senior Israeli leaders will be coming here. I speak with rabbis and chief rabbis, the real brains behind Israel, and they like me very much. They value what I say, they find my words important. They consult with me. They ask what I think about this potential war with Iran. If this subject, of the [invisible] Mahdi, is not brought out into the open, then I will not have much evidence to speak with or talk about. Because this is a reality, not something to be glossed over. Because the Iranian Prime Minister rightly says the Mahdi has appeared. The Iranian President rightly says the Mahdi has appeared. The Turkish daily Hurriyet – one of Turkey's leading papers – carried a headline saying the Mahdi is coming. Ahmadinejad is a worthy person who I love and like very much; I also like and value Khamenei. But if this matter [on the invisible Mahdi] is passed over in such a way, then the other one should be passed over the same way. I mean, it cannot be resolved unless this matter [on the invisible Mahdi] is fully brought out into the open. If that [the one on the invisible Mahdi] is settled, then leave the rest to me. By Allah's leave, I can easily build peace between Iran and Israel. I will talk, and that will put an end to it.
But while this matter [on the invisible Mahdi] is still on the agenda and so clear, then there is no answer I can give to the other one. It is a clear and present danger. That is clear from the propaganda films. And it is really impossible for the [invisible] Mahdi described in those not to say, "do not build an atom bomb." I mean of the [invisible] Mahdi described there. It is impossible for the [invisible] Mahdi described in the Shiite and Jafari belief to halt this, or tell them not to build an atom bomb. Because it is stated that this [invisible] Mahdi will shed great amounts of blood. They say this [invisible] Mahdi will wipe out three quarters of the world. This may not happen with tanks and guns. That can only be realized with nuclear weapons. In other words, that [invisible] Mahdi should definitely give this commandment in that case.
But the Mahdi heralded in the hadiths of our Prophet (saas) will never shed one drop of blood, will not wake up a sleeping person and he will not let even person's nose to bleed. That is the truth of it. That appears in Sunni belief and also in Shiite belief and reference sources. Mr. Ahmadinejad did not use to quote these hadiths previously. But after I said, he started using them that there is no bloodshed but compassion. But they still keep talking about bloodshed. They talk of the Mahdi's shedding blood. So Israel is rightly alarmed and fearful. Maybe the word fearful is not entirely accurate, but [Israel] may adopt a self-defensive reflex. But if this matter [on the invisible Mahdi] is resolved, I promise I can resolve their attitude. But if not, then you can appreciate how little use my words will be. Our Prophet (saas) explicitly stated that the Mahdi will not shed blood, that he will be a man of peace, that he will be just and even the fish in the sea and the birds in the air will be pleased with him, that he will not permit the sleeper to be awakened, that he will establish social justice and eliminate all weapons in the world, that he will turn them into useful things instead, that he will have them melted down. Yet when their belief [in the invisible Mahdi] is the contrary despite all this, there is little I can do to explain and defend it [Iran]. Let us bring this matter [of the invisible Mahdi] on the agenda and resolve it. We must not regard it as unimportant. We must sort it out, then you can leave the rest to me, by Allah's leave, Insha'Allah.
ADNAN OKTAR: It is enough for us to place our trust in the hadiths of our Prophet (saas). Trusting in the spirit of the Qur'an will illuminate this issue. For one thing, American foreign policy is now directed toward the way of the Mahdi in its current implementation. The invasion of Afghanistan was, in all probability, intended to stop the appearance of the Mahdi. Iraq was invaded out of a concern over the appearance of the Mahdi in that region. In other words, the return of the Prophet Jesus (pbuh), and the coming of the Mahdi now represent the basis of U.S. foreign policy, and they show that by their current practice. The way of the Mahdi is the reason for the use of U.S. military force in just about the whole region. And it has implemented a firmly rooted foreign policy on this.
I cannot intervene or put pressure on the Iranian regime, of course. We would not have any words to say on that. What Iran needs to do is wake up to the danger of this belief [in the invisible Mahdi] with sincerity and turn this belief into a true belief in the light of the hadiths of our Prophet (saas) and the Qur'an. This dangerous belief merely needs to be corrected into the true one. I want to talk to all the Iranian leaders about that. I have invited them here. But some of these friends are quite stringent on that. They were unpermissive when they came here last time. They wonder what Israel or America would think about a Turkish-Islamic Union. They [Israel and USA] will have no problems at all. I am saying this because I am definitely sure. What they only desire is an honest conception of Islam that is peaceful, full of love, which advocates free thought and espouses democracy, that embraces everyone and is well-intentioned and sincere. We aspire a conception of Islam that does not shed blood and puts a stop to bloodshed. Our Prophet (saas) has explained this in the way of Mahdi in many hadiths. I have all the hadiths with me here. But it would take too long to go into in detail. Let me speak with Iranian officials and leaders and scholars. There must be no restrictive system that puts a lock on the other. Let us think freely, let us have a free vision. I am not saying that Iran's sectarian religious belief should disappear. But their belief [on the invisible Mahdi] which is very dangerous, extremely dangerous, should be returned to the true form set out by our Prophet (saas). And I will explain this to them by using Shiite reference sources. I will not use Sunni references. I will use Shiite references that they can accept. We will put it back on a true course. We just need to get this belief in the Mahdi on its true form. That is all we need to do.
PROF. HOOSHANG AMIRAHMADI: Thank you. I wish you good luck in changing that situation. I think that you have a good point, and the point is that we need to have an Islam that is democratic, an Islam that is peaceful, an Islam that gives the people and the countries the opportunities for prosperity, better life, and so on.
