Many people speak of peace, but then there comes a point when they want war again, want conflict again. There are many good people, who are kind and excellent, but if you touch a raw nerve they become psychopathic, maniacal and aggressive. They reveal their lack of character in a moment. But good people are good right up to the end of their lives, always human, always reasonable and always act according to the Qur’an. Even if irritated they never abandon fear of Allah. They speak in the knowledge that this is destiny and behave as Muslims in the light of the Qur’an. Being irritated does not turn one away from the faith, from Islam. It is not a shameful thing. One can hate. One can hate for Allah. That is also a religious observance, insha’Allah. But losing control of oneself is disgraceful.

“The verse says it is the upper chest that should be covered. It does not refer to the head. The Arabic name of what women use to cover their heads is the ‘mikna,’ not ‘khimar.’ Why do you still refuse to understand? The Arabic word for the headscarf is ‘nasiyf,’ or ‘mikna. “Look in an Arabic dictionary and the plural of mikna is makani, and nasiyf is the plural of nasif,” it is the cloth of the headscarf. If it said something like Khimar al-ras, yes, that would be the headscarf. “The word ‘Ras’ emphasizes the region of the head. Together with the word covering/khimar, it clearly refers to a headscarf. As a matter of fact regarding ablution the word “ras” is used to say that head should be rubbed. The word ‘ras’ does not appear in the Qur’an [regarding covering], but ‘khimar’ does. It appears where the place to be covered up is the upper chest region. In other words, by the word khimar, it is the open chest that should be covered up, not the head. The world ‘jilb,’ meaning exposed chest, that a woman should cover her exposed breasts, is used in the verse to describe the area to be covered and also appears in verses saying the Prophet Moses (pbuh) put his hand in the area on his breast. The same word is used. Breast.

Say to the believing women that they should lower their eyes [from what is unlawful] and guard their private parts” They must not enter into illicit sexual relations. “and not display their adornments – except for what normally shows” apart from those parts that are seen naturally. “and draw their coverings across their breasts.”  let them cover themselves up. “They should only display their adornments to…” Look, Almighty Allah is saying who they can reveal their adornments to. He says they can only reveal them to these people. Who? “Their own husbands or fathers.” To her husband or her father, “or their fathers or their husbands’ fathers, or their sons or their husbands’ sons or their brothers or their brothers’ sons or their sisters’ sons or other women or those they own as slaves or their male attendants who have no sexual desire or children who still have no awareness of women’s private parts.” Almighty Allah says they must not expose them to anyone else. The commandment is explicit. It is impossible to misunderstand. Allah says they can only reveal their adornments to these people. “Nor should they stamp their feet so that their hidden ornaments are known. Turn to Allah every one of you, believers, so that hopefully you will have success.”

(In response to a lady viewer who says that she used to describe herself as a Muslim in her high school years, but that she turned away from the faith as she read the Qur’an and became an agnostic. She said the right of inheritance in the Qur’an, polygamy, the headscarf and its patriarchal language made her feel she was being treated unjustly as a woman)

There is indeed a feature of the Qur’an; it both turns one away from religion and also leads one to salvation. Allah says in a verse that in increased their error. If one is sick, one will fall into error. If one has faith, it will enhance that faith.

Patriarchal; show me one single verse referring to male superiority. Women are always protected and watched over in the Qur’an. The whole responsibility is given to the man. Women are shown the easy way. Allah always places the burdens on men. He always frees women from responsibilities. Allah makes women’s lives easier.

The right of inheritance; Yes, the man is given many shares in the right of inheritance, but a brother has a duty to care for his sister. The religion makes that compulsory. He has a duty to protect and watch over her in every way. And the girl has no need of it.

Surah Ghafir, 8

"Our Lord, admit them to the Gardens of Eden You have promised them, and all of their parents, wives...” Who does the believer enter paradise with? With their fathers and spouses. So what must we pay attention to when we get married? Not to money and fame, but to faith. Because you are choosing the spouse you will spend your eternal life with. If you get married at 20, the woman will be 40 after the passage of two decades. But there you will be forever young with your spouse, for a quadrillion, quadrillion, years, trillions of years. You choose a spouse in that way. So faithfulness must be the most important thing. A believer must observe the greatest extent of Allah’s approval when marrying. It is not good regarding a spouse as a kind of social security. The woman’s duty, as a servant, is to be the man’s companion in the hereafter. They have been created to strive together for Allah’s approval. Of course there are things about them that will please one another. “He created spouses for you of your own kind so that you might find tranquillity in them,” Allah says. But that comes from deep love and takwa. Otherwise tensions arise. That is why people who do not believe in Allah end up in hell when they get married. Many people hate their spouses, as you know. Allah transforms them into pain and suffering. But a believer is unwilling to be separated from his spouse for a minute or even a second. He embraces her and is eased, he loves her and is eased. That is why Allah says in one verse, “Among His Signs is that He created spouses for you of your own kind so that you might find tranquillity in them. And He has placed affection and compassion between you.” “He created spouses for you of your own kind so that you might find tranquillity in them” Otherwise what happens? Allah creates tensions. But peace and joy ensue when the believer is righteous. “all of their parents, wives and children who acted rightly. Truly You are the Almighty, the All-Wise....”

Our forebears.

Surah Ghafir, 9

"And safeguard them from evil acts. Those You safeguard from evil acts are truly the recipients of Your mercy on that Day. That is the Mighty Victory.”

Surah Ghafir, 10

Those who were unbelievers will be addressed: ‘Allah’s hatred of you, when you were called to belief but then chose unbelief, is even greater than your hatred of yourselves’.” They hate one another. But the hatred of Allah is even greater, He says. you were called to belief but then chose unbelief.”

Surah Ghafir, 11

They will say, ‘Our Lord, twice You caused us to die and twice You gave us life.We admit our wrong actions. Is there no way out’?”

People who believe in reincarnation cite this verse as evidence. But they misinterpret it. Yet we have promised Allah, the prophets have promised Allah. Almighty Allah says. “When We made a covenant with all the Prophets – with you and with Noah and Abraham and Moses and Jesus son of Maryam – We made a binding covenant with them,” " ‘Now that We have given you a share of the Book and Wisdom, and then a messenger comes to you confirming what is with you, you must believe in him and help him.’ " This also refers to the Mahdi, insha’Allah. Because Jesus the Messiah (pbuh) will come. He will help the Mahdi. But when all the other prophets come they will help them. The verse is indicating that at the same time. The second, figurative, meaning may be to do with the Mahdi.

Surah Ghafir, 14

So call upon Allah, making your religion sincerely His, even though the unbelievers detest it.”

Darwinists and materialists may not approve. Hypocrites and polytheists will attack you for saying the Qur’an is sufficient. But they talk nonsense. You say, “Jesus is a person.” But they say, “Jesus will never come.” They blatantly reject Allah’s verses. Some people will reject them out of ignorance, and that is another matter.

Surah Ghafir, 4

No one disputes Allah’s Signs except those who are unbelievers. Do not let their free movement about the earth deceive you.”

Darwinists and materialists are very busy at the moment. Do not be deceived by the way they hold conferences and open book stores and work on television. Allah tells you not to be influenced by them. This is also a verse showing the importance of signs leading to faith. It is one of hundreds of verses showing that faith is the main issue.

Surah Ghafir, 5

The people of Noah denied the truth before them, and the Confederates after them. Every nation planned to seize its Messenger and used false arguments to rebut the truth. So I seized them, and how was My retribution!” Once again, the importance of signs leading to faith. Whenever a mahdi or prophet appeared, people always opposed them. Against Islam and the Qur’an, using Darwinism and materialism as a pretext. What was the first thing they suffered? Unhappiness, joylessness. A Darwinist and materialist always suffers terribly. They hate themselves and the people around them. That is the effect of Darwinism and materialism.

Surat an-Nur, 30

“Say to the believers that they should lower their eyes [from what is unlawful]...” They must not look at what is unlawful. And that is made clear in verse 31. In other words, the fabrications of some scholars in their interpretation of the verse are unacceptable. It is explicitly set out in verses and the Qur’an.

Say to the believeres that they should lower their eyes [from what is unlawful]...” Men and women, everyone. They must turn their eyes from what is unlawful.

“and guard their private parts.” And not enter into illicit sexual relations.

“That is purer for them.” Believers are in any case pure.

Allah is aware of what they do.”

“Say to the believers that they should lower their eyes [from what is unlawful]...” Devout men and devout women, all of them. Muslim women must also not look on what is unlawful.

“and guard their private parts;” they must not enter into illicit sexual relations. Men must not enter into relations, according to verse 30. And women too. They must not look at what is unlawful.

“and not display their adornments,” it is set out here. They must not display their adornments. They must remain hidden. Now Allah sets out who is permitted to see them.

except for what normally shows.”  What can be seen under normal circumstances, in other words. You can reveal.

and draw their coverings across their breasts.” In other words, women walk about with their breasts uncovered. Women going topless. Allah says they must draw their coverings across their breasts.

“Their adornments,” Allah describes the places that must remain covered. Where must we not look? At women’s adornments. Now He lists those who are permitted to see them. Who may look, and who may not.

They should only display their adornments to their husbands” They can show their adornments to their own husbands, Allah says. Their husbands can look at them all they like.

or their fathers or their husbands’ fathers, or their sons or their husbands’ sons or their brothers or their brothers’ sons or their sisters’ sons or other women or those they own as slaves or their male attendants who have no sexual desire or children who still have no awareness of women’s private parts.” What happens if they look? They sin. They must not look.

Nor should they stamp their feet so that their hidden ornaments are known.” They must not try to reveal hidden places by the use of various cunning ruses and stratagems, like split skirts and that kind of thing.

Turn to Allah every one of you, believers, so that hopefully you will have success.”

Tell me if I am mistaken. The verse makes it quite explicit. There is nothing hard to understand. Allah lists those who may look, and those who may not. It is unlawful. except for what normally shows,” Allah says. You can look at normally visible places without lust. But the other places are set out in explicit terms.
