On 15 June, 2007, the De Rerum Natura blog site carried extracts from various reports concerning Harun Yahya (The Economist, Nature etc.) and provided details about his works. It reminded readers that in a report from 2001 Science magazine had described the Science Research Foundation, of which Adnan Oktar, who writes under the pen name Harun Yahya, is honorary president, as “one of the world’s strongest anti-evolution movements outside of North America.” The article also carried statements about the concepts of the Messiah, the Mahdi and the Dajjal (Antichrist), all of which are to be found also in Christian belief, and mentioned the books written by Harun Yahya on that subject. Part of the report reads:
“In addition to spreading creationist views and organizing anti-evolutionary conferences to which respected American creationists are invited, Harun Yahya also uses the Internet to disseminate his ideology and creationist ideas. Yahya’s works can be found in several languages on his web site, including Portuguese. Portuguese translations of “Jesus Will Return” and “Wonders of Allah’s Creation” are available.
A search of the writer’s name on YouTube produced 2410 results, including anti-evolutionist videos and videos concerning the Mahdi and the signs of the Last Day.”
