It cannot be done with hatred. Only with love and affection. Otherwise there is no meaning to life. Why live without love? The reason why we come into this world is for the test and to serve Allah. And what is the most important thing and fundamental basis in serving Allah? Love. Always love. Allah wants to be loved. Paradise is the abode of love. Birds, for example, love human beings. They come and behave in a cute manner and try to make us love them. They behave really cute. They complement us. The horses of paradise make great complements. They show love and are very polite and respectful. Just like humans, they are intelligent. All the animals and people of paradise know all about politeness and love. They are always very respectful and say, “Greetings to you.” That is a feature of paradise, insha’Allah. The concubines, for example, strive all day to make themselves loved. Little meat balls run around here and there. The young male servants in paradise are like that, too. They want to look nice and attractive and noble and to be liked. It is the same with the houris (maidens). Everything is based on love. Believers love one another. They converse in the gardens. They praise Rasulullah (saas) in all they see. Rasululllah (saas) takes part in every conversation. Rasulullah (saas) will have millions of bodies. Rasulullah (saas) will be everywhere, and at every table.
“Alhamdulillah”, “masha’Allah”, “insha’Allah”. There is a secret hidden in them. There is a concealed secret that affects the world and matter. The more these are repeated, the more the whole system turns toward the reign of Islam. That is how Allah has created it. Those two words are a sensitive measure of the world and matter. Then things will always move in that direction. For example, the words “masha’Allah” and “insha’Allah” are always on the lips of the followers of Jesus the Messiah. Hazrat Hidhir also frequently uses “insha’Allah” and “masha’Allah”. And these three always rule the world.
Mr. Adnan Oktar comments on verses from Surat al-Ahzab:
Verse 9. “You who have faith,” says Almighty Allah. “remember Allah’s blessing to you.” It is obligatory to reflect on all kinds of blessings. “,,,when forces came against you and We sent a wind against them and other forces you could not see. Allah sees what you do.” (Surat al-Ahzab, 9) “forces you could not see,” that means there is a visible army, and a covert one, invisible.
“When they came at you from above you and below you, when your eyes rolled and your hearts rose to your throats, and you thought unworthy thoughts about Allah,”
(Surat al-Ahzab, 10)
People may sometimes be awfully troubled and in a difficult position. Allah notes this. “Your eyes rolled,” He says. The Qur’an particularly concentrates on irregularities of the eye. When people stray from the truth their eyes assume an abnormal appearance. Allah notes the eye as a defining characteristic in the Qur’an. For example, “...your eyes rolled,” He says, “...and your hearts rose to your throats” an intense state of fear. “...and you thought unworthy thoughts about Allah.” This means that, may Allah forbid, people may sometimes behave ungratefully toward Allah when they face difficulties in the test.
...at that point the faithful were tested and severely shaken. (Surat al-Ahzab, 11)
Look, “they were tested.” The faithful are tested. What kind of shock? A very powerful one. This means there may be a series of shocks, but Allah suddenly produces a really powerful one.
“When the hypocrites and people with sickness in their hearts said,” all right, we have the hypocrites, and also those with sickness in their hearts. They are not complete hypocrites, but have a tendency toward it. 'What Allah and His Messenger promised us was mere delusion.' (Surat al-Ahzab, 12)
For example, I say that Islam will reign over the world. There are hadiths of our prophet (saas) about that. There is the coming of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). And of Jesus the Messiah (pbuh). I say there will be Islamic Unity. And what do they say? “No. This is a hollow fabrication.” “What Allah and His Messenger promised us was mere delusion,” they say. What does Allah say in the verse? “When the hypocrites and people with sickness in their hearts said, ‘What Allah and His Messenger promised us was mere delusion’.”
And they are still saying that now. “...and a group of them said, ‘People of Yathrib’,” the people living there, “Your position is untenable, so return’!” Give up, in other words. Do not strive for Islamic Unity. Do not strive for the reign of Islam. “...some of them asked the Prophet to excuse them, saying, ‘Our houses are exposed’,” you go without us, in other words. “You go and take care of your family. Why strive for Islamic Unity? Why strive to spread Islam? Go and spend time with your family and parents. Stop working.” "‘Our houses are exposed,’ when they were not exposed; it was merely that they wanted to run away.”
(Surat al-Ahzab, 13) They do not want to serve the religion of Allah.
“If they had been overrun from every side,” if they were surrounded on all sides by disbelief and arrogance, “...and had then been asked to revert to disbelief,” in other words, if they had felt the full force of disbelief, if they believed that Muslims had lost all their strength, and if they had been asked to spread corruption, to act against Islam and in a manner opposed to Islamic moral values, “...they would have done so and hesitated very little about it.”
(Surat al-Ahzab, 14) Most people are like that. When you mention this, you see they have a great desire to get on well with it. You see that in many Muslims. But when there is service and behavior befitting a Muslim going on, they stop, and lose all energy and the power of speech. They lose their enthusiasm. But when they have a chance regarding disbelief, if there are no Muslims around and they believe that Muslims are in a weakened state, then they display an amazing disbelieving-type character and behavior. As if any decent person had ever come from disbelief. You would be amazed. One sometimes sees people who are Muslims turning toward disbelief. They become an exact copy of it. The same language, way of speaking, behavior, annoying habits, awkwardness and general unpleasantness. They exhibit this great ability. That is what Allah is pointing to. Look, “...they would have done so and hesitated very little about it.” Allah says they would have no compunctions, but they put up all kinds of obstacles when it comes to serving Islam. “My mother will not let me, my father will not let me, my school will not let me, the neighborhood will not let me.” But when it comes to disbelief, or immorality, or huge pride, then they heed neither mother nor father nor anyone else. Isn’t that right? They exhibit the most amazing courage then. They do the craziest things and feel no compunctions at all. They exhibit a devilish ability then.
“Yet they had previously made a contract with Allah that they would never turn their backs.” They have promised never to turn their backs on Islam and the Qur’an. “Contracts made with Allah will be asked about.” (Surat al-Ahzab, 15). A verse pointing to this test.
“Say: ‘Flight will not benefit you if you try to run away from death” if you try to avoid death. “...or being killed. Then you will only enjoy a short respite.” (Surat al-Ahzab, 16) In other words, Allah will still take your soul in some way. The hypocrites strive with all their might to obstruct Muslims’ activities, but they imagine they will live for a very long time, and that Muslims will be killed and die. They tell Muslims, “You will soon be killed. They will kill you. Your time is up, but we are strong and we are warning you.” Then you look and see it is all exactly the opposite. That is what Almighty Allah is indicating. Allah says He will still kill them.
“Say: ‘Who is going to shield you from Allah if He desires evil for you or desires mercy for you?’ They will find no one to protect or help them besides Allah.”
Allah afflicts troubles on the hypocrites when He wishes. They cannot prevent it, not even if they are in large numbers. No matter what they do. So can they prevent the coming of the Mahdi (pbuh)? Look, Almighty Allah says, “Who is going to shield you from Allah if He desires evil for you or desires mercy for you?" That is not possible, either. Can they prevent the coming of Jesus the Messiah? No. Can they prevent Islamic Unity? No. Why not? Because we have Allah’s promise. “They will find no one to protect or help them besides Allah.”
(Surat al-Ahzab, 17) “They will not have the strength,” Allah is saying.
“Allah knows the obstructers among you and those who say to their brothers, ‘Come to us,’ and who only come to fight a very little.” (Surat al-Ahzab, 18) They obstruct people who want to enter a group of Muslims and assist the Mahdi (pbuh) and Islamic Unity. “You had better not go there, you will end up in trouble. That will be the end of your youth and life. You will lose your school and occupation ,” they say. “...those who say to their brothers, ‘Come to us’.” To filth, arrogance, disbelief, soullessness and lovelessness. “...who only come to fight a very little.” In other words, they do not come to a difficult fight but they may if the job is easy and will not take long and if it is their own interests. But if there is no advantage for them, if the struggle is long-term and if they will be made uncomfortable, then Allah says they stay away.
Even if you really insist and they do come, “...[they] are begrudging towards you. (when they come).' Allah says they are selfish. Parsimonious, looking out for their own interests. But they do not want to serve. They are parsimonious with their service, money and love, and their friendship and compliments. They do not like to give anything. They want to do nothing that will make Muslims happy or win the approval of the Muslim in front of them. They are selfish in that, too. They do not want to do anything. That is why such types never speak. They show no love or kindness, because they regard that as giving. They even regard good manners as giving something away, so they do not bother. They avoid giving a pleasant look or speaking a pleasant word or good behavior. They are selfish. They only want things to be given to them. They want Muslims to give to them, but not to give to Muslims. “Then when fear comes” something for them to be afraid of, like an attack against Muslims, or slander and defamation, or something involving the police, or some legal problem or something else. “Then when fear comes, you see them looking at you, their eyes rolling like people scared to death.” Look, another problem of facial expression, do you see? The Qur’an refers to that many times. Allah says He uses the defects in their expressions as a sign. What kind of facial appearance? Their eyes roll, they look ready to faint, they look like dead people. Like animals, like dead animals. A meaningless, empty, devastated appearance. A hollow, moldy look. They do not look human. What do people who are “...scared to death” look like? They have unaware expressions. Meaningless and lacking in concentration. “But when fear departs,” when the attack has evaporated, “...they flay you with sharp tongues.” They insult people and gossip and say unpleasant things. They speak meaningless words and defame people. “Such people have no faith;” No matter how much they may say believe, Allah says that in His eyes, they do not. Which is true? What Allah says is true. Someone can say that he believes all he likes but Allah says it is no good if you do not really believe.
“Allah will make their actions come to nothing. That is easy for Allah.” (Surat al-Ahzab, 19) Do they not do things? They do. They even pray and fast, and let their beards grow down their waists and brush their teeth with the miswak and wear their robes, but Allah says, “Allah will make their actions come to nothing.” They think they are doing something, but it is all for naught.
“They think that the Confederates [hypocrites] have not departed,” they imagine the attack on Muslims is continuing. “...and if the Confederates did appear,” attacks of all kinds on Muslims by disbelievers, “...then they would wish they were out in the desert with the Arabs, asking for news of you.” Taking their leave of Muslims, in other words. They regard being with Muslims as dangerous. They try to obtain information by infiltrating the Bedouin Arabs, ignorant people with nothing to do with religion. “If they were with you they would only fight a very little” (Surat al-Ahzab, 20) says Allah. In other words, Allah is saying do not strive for them to come as they will just mean trouble. It is better for you if they go, He says.
“You have an excellent model in the Messenger of Allah, for all who put their hope in Allah and the Last Day and remember Allah much.”
For sincere Muslims, for Muslims who remember Allah much. (Surat al-Ahzab, 21) Look at the life of Rasulullah (saas). His courage, loyalty, determination, fortitude, joy, fervor, conception of love, manners and pleasantness will be a role model for you, says Almighty Allah.
“When the faithful saw the Confederates they said:” when they saw the attack by the disbelievers, of the irreligious and atheists, of the ignorant or of the bigots. “This is what Allah and His Messenger promised us.”, because the disbelievers will be very active. “Allah and His Messenger told us the truth.” We look at the hadiths and they say the same. “It only increased them in piety and in submission.” (Surat al-Ahzab, 22) They become even more fervent and enthusiastic. For example, the more they attack Muslims, the more fervent Muslims become. The more the Darwinists and materialists attack them, the more fervent they become. Muslims grow in fervor because they see a promised reality, a miracle.
“But those of you who are obedient to Allah and His Messenger and act rightly” Now, obedience is something else. It requires love to exist. Allah is not speaking of good deeds, but of righteous actions, sincere actions. Sincerity is one of the greatest blessings in the world. Faith, sincerity, intelligence. “...will be given their reward twice over; and We have prepared generous provision for them.”
(Surat al-Ahzab, 31) Who says this? Almighty Allah says it of the wives of the prophets.
“Wives of the Prophet! you are not like other women provided you have piety.” In other words, other Muslim women are in a more relaxed position than you. They are more at ease in all areas, but you are special because you are the wives of the Prophet. Your position is a very different one, Allah says. A very important pronouncement. Other women can be more relaxed. “Do not be too soft-spoken in your speech lest someone with sickness in his heart becomes desirous. Speak correct and courteous words.”
(Surat al-Ahzab, 32) They speak in a serious, controlled and correct manner.
“Remain in your houses,” Who does this apply to? To the wives of the Prophet. Does it apply to other women? No. Allah deliberately sets them apart. Other women can leave their homes and act in a more relaxed manner. “...and do not display your beauty as it was previously displayed in the Time of Ignorance,” They must cover their breasts, that is a ruling applying to all Muslims. Every Muslim women must cover her chest. “Establish salat (prayer) and pay zakat (alms) and obey Allah and His Messenger. Allah desires to remove all impurity from you, People of the House, and to purify you completely.”
(Surat al-Ahzab, 33) In those days women wandered about with their chests totally uncovered. Almighty Allah tells women to cover themselves up. Almighty Allah makes it a sin for them to bare their breasts.
Turkey’s basic policy is one of love and friendship toward Russia, and it continues to be its basic policy. We have no enmity toward Russia. We love the Russian people and nation. But our Foreign Minister should make a statement; he needs to emphasize that we regard Russia as a friend, as a brother, that we act out of a unifying spirit of togetherness with Russia, and that this is what the precautionary measure to be taken means.
