THE IMAGES VISUALIZED AND DREAMS

It takes but a moment when our eyes are closed to call to mind an image of the school we attended. An image forms in our brains right away. But our eyes are closed. When we look at a view for a while and then subsequently close our eyes we can again see that image in our minds when we want to recall it. But again our eyes are closed. Although it is not our eyes that are doing the seeing and although there is no image of a school in front of us, this image still exists in our minds in almost the exact same form. The production of an image in the mind despite the lack of an eye to perceive it is evidence that the perceiver is something different than the eye and something not dependent on matter. It is the “soul” created by our Almighty Lord to be independent of matter and bestowed on human beings by Him that does the perceiving.

Dreams are of great importance to a proper understanding of this subject. Events, space, people, feeling and three-dimensionality are all the same in dreams as they are in this world. So much so that it is almost impossible to be convinced that these are not real when one is dreaming. Everywhere one dreams of is very real, people are real, and events take place in such a vivid way that the dreamer feels excitement in the face of them, and when one runs one actually grows out of breath. One can feel fear while dreaming, strive with all one’s might to escape from danger, or feel alarm in the face of the threat concerned. But while all this rushing around is going on for hours, you are actually lying comfortably in bed with your eyes closed. You are in a perfectly secure environment, and there is no-one trying to catch you, no rain falling and no danger confronting you. Furthermore, an event that seems to last for hours actually took place in your dream in a matter of minutes. And most important of all, these events were all created in your mind.

One important point that needs to be stressed with regard to dreaming is this: You do not have any direct experience of any element of the outside world when dreaming. The world you experience at that moment is generally different from the life you regard as real life. The environment you are in may be different, and the people you meet, even your parents, may be different. Your home and your fears may be different. It is impossible for you to actually see anything because your eyes are closed. But even if they were open the place you are in is not the place you see. The smell of grass you know so well is perfectly clear in a dream. But you are actually asleep on the tenth floor of an apartment block. You have no doubt about it when you eat and taste an apple; indeed, what you are eating may sometimes be a peach, but it tastes like an apple. And, what is more, there is nothing odd about that in that world. However, you are not really eating anything at all as you are asleep lying in bed. This is merely something created in your dream.

One may suffer pain in a dream. So much so that if you slip while you are running over grass you see you have cut your knee. You try to staunch the bleeding and feel the pain from your knee with perfect clarity. Yet no such thing has happened as you lie in bed. You feel the pain in the real sense, but no injury has occurred to your body.

But how is it you feel the pain of an injury that does not actually exist in just the same way as in reality? How is it that, although you are fast asleep, you can enjoy the taste of a delicious apple, and how can you feel fear, excitement and worry in order to escape from danger, despite being asleep in bed, perfectly and in a way identical to normal? How is it that, despite being asleep in your bed at home, you can run for hours over boundless expanses of land? And why are those hours in fact only minutes?

If you are not actually in that environment, then what is the power that shows you these things and causes you to feel them as if they were real?

It is of course our Almighty Lord Who causes you to feel these things in that way and Who keeps the soul under His constant supervision. In the same way that Allah (God) creates a perfectly clear and beautiful world in our minds in this world, so He can very definitely create an equally clear and perfect world in our dreams. There is no doubt that this is very easy for Him.

Our Lord has created the same natural causes for the real world and for dreams: electric signals. The things we think we see actually stem from electric signals, as do those in dreams. Although both have the same cause and although both are created in your minds, you still think that dreams are not real, but that this world is. The fact is, however, that they are essentially the same; both are illusions.

Time is different in dreams. And so is space. The laws of physics are sometimes different. But these are the only things that are real for you when you are dreaming. That being the case, since there is no difference between the way you perceive the world you are perceiving now and the world in your dreams, then this world clearly consists of an image created in your mind. The same physical activities take place in the brain whether you envisage something in your mind, whether you experience it in real life or whether you dream it. You generally think that the factor that gives rise to these activities is an external stimulus, such as light rays. But there is actually no light striking the retina, or no thorn pricking your finger, to give rise to images or sensations when you envisage a thing in your mind or when you dream it.

This makes the following fact perfectly obvious: The way this world is created is the same as dreaming. Therefore, the images you see in this world are created as illusions for you, just as in dreams. You watch events arising in your brain in a world also forming in your brain; you laugh at them, enjoy them or feel excitement at them. But Allah creates them all in your mind. If a person loses the five senses he or she possesses, this colorful, vivid, clear and perfect looking world that we are shown will also disappear, even though the outside world continues to exist. It is therefore impossible to maintain that something we see is the same as the original on the outside. It exists only in a world that Allah “creates for us” in our minds. We can never, ever know whether other people can see it or not, or whether we see the same image as the original on the outside.

Design of Color in Plants

If one does not reflect, one cannot see the miraculous characteristics of the living beings around one. So long as one does not think about how a butterfly with its membranous wings flies, how the flowers one sees have such diversity of color, how the top branches of hundreds of meters tall trees remain green, one cannot grasp the subtleties of these. Even the extraordinary artistry in a flower may not capture one's attention.

However, perfect artistry is clearly displayed in all living beings from insects to birds, from plants to sea creatures. Certainly this artistry belongs to God Who is the Creator of all living things.

Let us think about plants, fruits, vegetables, flowers, and trees. Plants, each having different color, fragrances and tastes, are evidence of the artistry in creation of God. Each plant you see around you or know from books has color and patterns that are exclusive to its kind. The reproductive process of each is different, the proportions of nectar they contain and their fragrances are all different. Let us think about roses. There are red, white, yellow, orange, pink, white edged, double-colored, even roses with wavelike color. Certainly, it would be great blindness for a man who sees all this not to feel admiration for and not to glimpse the endless might of God, Who is the Creator of all these flowers. In the Qur'an, God refers to those who fail to appreciate the evidence of the creation they see as follows:

How many Signs there are in the heavens and earth! Yet they pass them by turning away from them. Most of them do not have faith in God without associating others with Him. (Surah Yusuf, 105-106)

Have you ever thought about why plants are green?

As is obvious, the color prevailing in the world of plants are green and shades of green. Chlorophyll is the main substance producing green. Chlorophyll, a very important substance, is a pigment contained in the chloroplasts scattered out in the cytoplasm of the plant cell. These pigments absorb light coming from the sun easily, but only reflect the color green. In addition to giving the color green to leaves, this feature also causes the fulfillment of a crucial process called "photosynthesis".

In photosynthesis, plants utilize sunlight, which consists of the combination of different color. One of the most important properties of the color in sunlight is that their energy levels are different from one another. This assortment of color called the spectrum, which is obtained by the refraction of color in a prism for example, has red and yellow tones at one end, and blue and violet tones at the other end. Color with the highest level of energy are those color at the blue end of the spectrum.

The difference in the energy levels between color is very important for plants, because they need large amounts of energy to make photosynthesis. For this reason, during photosynthesis, plants absorb those sunrays of the highest energy levels towards the ultraviolet end of the spectrum, i.e. violet and blue, as well as the color that are more towards the infra-red (heat) end of the spectrum, i.e. red, orange and yellow. Leaves carry out all these processes through the chlorophyll pigment existing in the chloroplasts.

For a plant to photosynthesize, the energy levels of the light particles that are absorbed by the substance chlorophyll must be adequate. The process of photosynthesis begins when a plant, with the energy it receives from light particles, breaks the water molecules into oxygen and hydrogen molecules. Hydrogen reacts with carbon in the carbon dioxide gas to form the sap of the plant, which is essential for the plant to survive. In other words, the plant produces its own food. Unused oxygen, on the other hand, is released to the air. Most of the oxygen we breathe in the atmosphere is produced that way.

As a result of the process of photosynthesis in plants, they produce carbohydrates, one of the main food sources for other living things. The substances produced during photosynthesis are extremely important for plants themselves as well as for animals and humans, because plants are the main source of food of all living things on earth.

As we have seen, besides providing an aesthetic appearance, the green color of plants is also extremely crucial for the survival of both plants and other living creatures. God makes the substance chlorophyll a cause for the nourishment of plants and the sustenance of all other living creatures.

WHY IS ANTI-DARWINIST ACTIVITY SO IMPORTANT?

Darwinism espouses the lie that the perfect equilibrium in the universe and life came into being by chance and also constitutes the backbone of materialism. This perverted belief teaches people that they are a rather more advanced species of animal, instead of an entity with a soul. Darwinist ideology foresees relations between people being ruthless, selfish and based on conflict, rather than being founded on love and compassion. Conflict therefore inevitably prevails in those places where the ideological structure of Darwinism predominates. Because this dangerous ideology regards feelings such as compassion, love, affection and respect as obstacles that slow down the so-called process of evolution and that need to be eliminated.

Why Is Darwinism a Danger?

Darwinism is the common basis for all movements that are incompatible with the Qur’an. War, slaughter, anarchy and terror afflicted the whole world with the spread of Darwinism in the 20th century in particularly. Societies taught with Darwinist rituals were encouraged in the direction of irreligion, immorality, anarchy and violence, and individuals lacking sufficient education were literally turned into crime machines. People who, on the basis of that indoctrination, regarded other peoples as inferior to them in the supposed process of evolution used the savage laws of nature and ruthlessness to crush others.

The Error of Regarding the Struggle against Darwinism as Unimportant

It is unacceptable to regard this historic fraud, which has been propped up for ideological reasons despite having been scientifically refuted, as harmless or to disregard the danger it poses. This illogical ideology, whose beginnings go back to the Sumerians, consists of a failed theory that attempts to account for the appearance of life in materialist terms. This heretical pagan religion, whose true aim is to deny the existence of a Creator, is a trigger that caused the blood of innocent people to be spilled, especially in the 20th century, by trying to turn societies away from belief in Allah and indoctrinating them with the idea they have no purpose. This bloody consequence of Darwinist ideology can still be felt today, as the acts of terror and violence perpetrated across the world are nourished by this heretical theory.

Darwinism Is Officially Supported by Many States

The struggle against Darwinism is therefore of vital importance for the establishment of social peace and for the moral values of the Qur’an to rule the world. Most of the states of the world have adopted Darwinism as an official ideology and espouse this heretical thesis by various means. Darwinist education is supported by official state institutions and a false education that rebels against belief in Allah is provided. Besides this ideology encouraging irreligion, it is also forbidden to talk about belief in Allah at schools. Professors who do not espouse Darwinism are removed from their posts forthwith and find themselves unable to take up posts in just about any institutions. The whole world lies under the yoke of the Darwinist dictatorship. It is almost impossible for someone who does not support the theory of evolution to assume the name of scientist. Professors select Darwinists and materialists just like themselves as their assistants, but never appoint non-Darwinists, and even attempt to remove them from universities entirely.

But some people fail to appreciate the importance of anti-Darwinist activities and do not take the work carried out in this field sufficiently seriously. These circles fall into the error of thinking of Darwinist as a harmless scientific theory as a result of being misinformed on the subject. In doing so, these people have ignored the perils of allowing Darwinist ideologies to spread by considering it impossible for a communist, materialist and irreligious system to emerge in lands where belief in Allah and Islam are widespread. But this is a huge mistake. The destruction suffered by those peoples who fell into that error in the past once again emphasized the importance of anti-Darwinist and anti-materialist activities.

Countries Suffered Their Darkest and Bloodiest Times under the Influence of Darwinist Ideology

For example, the Ba’ath Party that organized itself in countries such as Jordan, Iraq, Libya, Syria and Yemen when this historic fraud began being adopted as an ideology among their people led to the formation of a communist system in those countries. Higher academic, political, military and civil service echelons were trained by dyed in the wool Stalinist party members. The smallest organs of the Ba’ath Party to the very largest all had a Leninist structure. Saddam Hussein was a leading Ba’ath Party militant. As a party member he received a military education based on Darwinism and materialism. He seized power in Iraq following an internal party coup. The slaughter that followed continued right down to the present day, even after the occupation of Iraq. When we look at the beginning of this bloody period, we see that its principal cause was Darwinist-materialist-communist propaganda, that these heretical ideologies were regarded as unobjectionable and that no effective anti-Darwinist propaganda was conducted. This perilous ideology put down cunning roots in society and gradually caused enormous bloodshed in Iraq by gradually transforming the education system.

Another of the communist leaders of the Ba’ath Party was Hafiz Assad, who spilled the blood of many Muslims in Syria. Assad had also received a Darwinist-materialist education in the Soviet Union, and internal conflicts began manifesting themselves immediately after he came to power in the country. Using a number of doubtful assassination attempts as a pretext, the Syrian Secret Service initiated operations against Muslims in the country in 1982. It has been estimated that 150,000-200,000 civilians were slaughtered in these operations, carried out at Assad’s command. Abdullah Ocalan and the PKK also received logistical support from the country during Assad’s rule. However, a huge change took place in Syria following Hafiz Assad’s death when power was assumed by his son, Bashar Assad. Syria established a more moderate, democratic and modern environment, constructed closer and better links with Turkey, and began following a policy of support for the Turkish-Islamic Union and aiming at friendly relations with all the countries in the region.

Rules under the influence of Darwinist ideologies have always brought their countries exactly the same things: anarchy, disorder and slaughter. One example of this is Egypt. In 1952, Jamal Abdul Nasser staged a coup, overthrowing King Farouk and ruling the country for the next 20 years. A Darwinist-Stalinist nationalism known as Nasserism developed in the country. Intense pressure was inflicted on the Muslim public in his time, and thousands of Muslim scholars were tortured and executed.

Colonialist Activities Initiated Under the Influence of Darwinism

The effort to equate Darwinist-materialist ideology with civilization is a complete deception. With the colonialist activities they commenced in the light of this deception, western nations inflicted disasters on the peoples of many countries by treating them like animals. Colonialists regard themselves as superior to those whom they colonize. They do not regard the colonized as having any right to exist at all. Tens of states colonized through that perspective were oppressed for many years and weakened by civil conflicts. The effects of this perverted perspective still persist in the countries concerned today, and civil conflicts are still encouraged by the supporters of Darwinism.

As can be seen from these examples, it is of crucial importance for the dangerous aspect of Darwinist-materialist ideology to be made clear and for the public to be made aware of it. It is the most perilous corruption for the fraud of evolution to be made part of education as if it were a scientific theory. Under the influence of Darwinist ideology, societies with no belief in Allah that imagine themselves to be aimless and with no responsibilities, have grown up over the last 150 years. As the greatest pagan religion of the last 150 years, Darwinism has been a hindrance to the spread of belief in Allah. No sincere believer can therefore turn a blind eye to the activities of this pagan religion. What needs to be done is to describe the heretical nature of Darwinist rituals and eliminate the heretical faith that is Darwinism.

The Prophets Destroyed the Idols Raised in Opposition to Belief in Allah

When we look at world history, we see that none of the prophets ever turned a blind eye to the idols of their communities. For instance, the Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him) smashed his people’s idols. Allah describes this as follows in the Qur’an:

He broke them in pieces, except for the biggest one, so that they would have it to consult! They said, ‘Who has done this to our deities? … They said, ‘Did you do this to our deities, Abraham?’ He said, ‘No, this one, the biggest of them, did it. Ask them if they are able to speak!’ They consulted among themselves and said, ‘It is you yourselves who are wrongdoers.’ But then they relapsed back into their unbelief: ‘You know full well these idols cannot talk.’ He said, ‘Do you then worship, instead of Allah, what cannot help or harm you in any way? Shame on you and what you worship besides Allah! Will you not use your intellect?’ (Surat al-Anbiya’, 58-67)

As can be seen from the above verses, the Prophet Abraham (pbuh) did not just smash the idols. He also selected a rationalistic means of doing so by which people would realize their idols had no power. By stirring their consciences, he forced the people to think in a direction they had perhaps never considered before.

In the same way, the Prophet Moses (pbuh) destroyed the idols of his people who had returned to their old heretical beliefs during his absence. The Prophet Moses (pbuh) burned the idol, a statue of a calf, his people had made, shattered it and then cast it into the sea, The Prophet Moses (pbuh) took these sound precautions in order that his people should not return to worshiping idols. Allah reveals this as follows in the Qur’an:

He said, ‘What do you think you were doing, Samaritan?’ He said, ‘I saw what they did not see. So I gathered up a handful from the Messenger’s footprints and threw it in. That is what my inner self urged me to do.’ He said, … Look at your god to which you devoted so much time. We will burn it up and then scatter it as dust into the sea. Your god is Allah alone, there is no god but Him. He encompasses all things in His knowledge.’ (Surah Ta Ha, 95-98)

Our Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) also warned his people against idols and told them they had no power at all. Almighty Allah describes this in these verses of the Qur’an:

Have you really considered al-Lat and al-‘Uzza and Manat, the third, the other one? … They are nothing but names which you yourselves have given, you and your forefathers. Allah has sent down no authority for them. They are following nothing but conjecture and what their own selves desire. And that when guidance has reached them from their Lord! (Surat al-Najm, 19-23)

The above verses show that what a believer must do is to fully and irrevocably eliminate those things that society adopts as idols. The idol that represents the basis of the danger that is irreligion today is Darwinist-materialist ideology. Remaining silent in the face of and disregarding this bloody ideology has always had evil consequences. It must not be forgotten that shutting one’s eyes in the dark does not do away with the darkness. Darkness does not disappear just by one thinking it does not exist. One has to turn the light on to eliminate the darkness. The light that needs to be turned on today is the intellectual struggle against Darwinism and materialism.

The theory of evolution has now been scientifically and intellectually eliminated by means of Adnan Oktar’s anti-materialist and anti-Darwinist activities of the last 20 years. People in a great many countries, especially Turkey, have now realized they are dealing with a great deception. The level of believers has risen all over the world, and through this Islam has enjoyed a rapid rise across the world. The moment that the scourge inflicted by Darwinism over the last 150 years is lifted, when the beauties bestowed by belief in Allah rule the world, a new age will begin. This is the Golden Age, when Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will appear and when people see the coming of the Prophet Jesus (pbuh). It is therefore unacceptable for Muslims to remain silent in the face of this dangerous ideology. What every Muslim must do is to call on people to abide by the moral values of the Qur’an by telling them of the dark face of Darwinism.

The 6 December, 2008, issue of Avrupa, a Turkish-language newspaper published in London, carried Adnan Oktar’s answers to the paper’s questions. Adnan Oktar’s answer to the question, “What is the finest message you would wish to send to the people of Turkey and the world in your life” in the interview, which appeared under the title "My True Cause in This World Is the Turkish-Islamic Union," was reported as follows:

Adnan Oktar: “My true cause in this world is the Turkish-Islamic Union.”

ADNAN OKTAR: My true cause and one of my ideals in this world, as everyone knows, is the Turkish-Islamic Union, insha’Allah. In other words, the establishment of a very large union including the Islamic countries, Azerbaijan, Turkestan, Kazakhstan and all of them. And for Turkey to be the elder brother. In the Turkish-Islamic Union I have in mind, all states will remain as nation states; it is a union of hearts, a union of love. It will be a union of shared minds. For example, when terror raises its head, joint decisions will be taken to eradicate it. When an economic crisis emerges, a joint decision will be taken to resolve it. When a country faces economic collapse, for instance, a joint decision will be taken to rescue it. At the root of this union lie love, altruism, mutual aid, compassion, tolerance, understanding and compromise. The Qur’an commands the Islamic world to be as one. The moral values of the Qur’an must be sincerely applied. We have one faith, one tongue, one everything; we have the same everything, we share the same roots and are brothers, but we are separate. That should clearly not be so. If we suggested to Azerbaijan “let us unite” today, they would agree without thinking about it for even a day. All that is needed is for the official proposal to be made. We can easily unite as two states, one nation. There are no obstacles. That applies to Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan. The Islamic world will be able to breathe much easier after this unification. Iraq and Syria are desperately keen to unite with Turkey. All it needs is for Turkey to come up with the proposal, to give it a name. Just making the request will be sufficient. The Arabs want it, too. They regard it as the only way out. It also means salvation for America. And for China and Russia. They will all be better off economically. Terror will be completely eradicated. Israel in particular will be able to relax and will have no more problems. Armenia will be able to relax and a fine civilization will result. There are really no obstacles to the foundation of the Turkish-Islamic Union, because it is a union of peace, of brotherhood and of love, not a conception based on racial superiority or putting anyone else down. Everyone will want such an excellent thing.

According to the Korean Muslim Federation (KMF), founded in 1967, there are some 120,000-130,000 Korean and foreign Muslims living in the country. Migrant workers from Pakistan and Bangladesh make up the majority of the Muslim population. The number of Muslims of Korean origin is estimated to be around 45,000.

The wealth of racial and ethnic differences in Muslim society in the largely Buddhist country is striking. Muslims from 14 countries, including America, Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia and Uzbekistan all live together there. There are also tens of thousands of Muslims in the region who have come to work or for asylum from South and Southeast Asia.

The Muslim population in the port town of Busan is growing rapidly, and work is being carried out to open a school providing an Islamic education.

Haseeb Ahmed Khan, a businessman of Pakistani origin who has lived in South Korea for some 10 years, says that there were not enough mosques when he first arrived in the country, and adds, “But now there are many mosques in the country.”

The country’s largest mosque is the Seoul Central Mosque in the Itaewon area of the city. There are mosques great and small in all the country’s main cities. There are more than 10 mosques in towns such as Gwangju, Busan and Daegu. Mosques are not just places of worship for Muslims in South Korea. Haseeb says: “The Friday prayer brings people together. And they come together after that act of worship in order to establish a better community. People learn to speak and listen to live and share, during the Friday prayers and sermons.” Mosques are a center of community and education. Mosques are also institutions that help those wishing to learn about Islam. Haseeb says that mosques in the region provide written and audio materials and help people who want to learn about Islam. Such people can obtain educational materials free of charge.

The All-Giving

Or do they possess the treasuries of your Lord's mercy, the Almighty, the Ever-Giving? (Surah Sad, 9)

Allah promised a life of infinite happiness in Paradise , which starts here in this world, for He also promised a beautiful life in this world. This is why sincere believers see no limits when asking their Lord to meet their needs. They can ask their Lord for anything that will draw them nearer to Him. Allah answers these calls as He wills, and His answer is always the best. One example is Prophet Sulayman's (as) prayer: “Truly do I love the love of good, with a view to the glory of my Lord” (Surah Sad, 32) and continued:

He said: “My Lord, forgive me and give me a kingdom the like of which will never be granted to anyone after me. Truly You are the Ever-Giving.” (Surah Sad, 38:35)

Prophet Sulayman (as) prayed for such a kingdom because he knew that Allah rewards His sincere servants both in this world and in the Hereafter. One verse reads:

Our Lord, do not make our hearts swerve aside after You have guided us. And give us mercy from You. You are the Ever-Giving. (Surah Al ‘Imran, 8)

Adnan Oktar: The Islamic Union is a system that embraces all the countries of the world, that treats them with love, that regards none as enemies, but that forgives its enemies and makes friends out of them. Such a system will therefore have no enemies. Because no country will be hostile to this system . Since it is inimical to none it will have no enemies. The Turkish-Islamic Union will be founded with the aim of bringing peace, love, brotherhood and security to the world. The infrastructure for this is now ready. All Islamic countries wants an Islamic Union. If a survey were held in Islamic countries, we would see that 95%, 99% want an Islamic Union. We would see the same thing in the Turkic states. If we held a survey asking whether they want a Turkish-Islamic Union, we would, and do, see that all the Turkic states want it. I witness that myself. The public want it. All that needs to be done is for people at the top to be convinced and encouraged. It is something that can happen at any moment. These ideas have been proposed in this climate of economic collapse. Ideas such as LET US ESTABLISH A CUSTOMS UNION, LET US ESTABLISH A COMMON CURRENCY AND LET US ESTABLISH A COMMON MARKET have quickly entered the equation. That means that the infrastructure for an Islamic Union is ready. These beliefs, these ideas will very soon be accepted. They will bear fruit in an excellent manner. Because this system regards no country as its enemy.

THE ORIGIN OF BIRDS AND FLIGHT

There are more than 10,000 species of birds on Earth, each of which possesses its own unique features. Hawks have very sharp eyes, broad wings and pointed talons. Plovers, weighing just a few hundred grams, flap their wings for 88 hours non-stop on the journey of 4,000 kilometers (2,485 miles) that they make every winter, crossing the ocean without mishap. With their ability to imitate sounds including human speech, parrots are among the cleverest of living things. Although anatomy of their mouths is wholly different—they have no teeth or lips, for instance—they are able to produce sounds very similar to those they hear. With their long beaks, the hummingbirds—the smallest known species of birds—can feed on flower nectar and the small insects they find inside flowers. In order to feed, they needs to hover in the air in front of the flower, and with its specially created features, they are the only species of bird able to do so. Jays bury the bonito fish they collect for later use. With their powerful memories, they are able to find and extract these fish even after nine months have passed, in forests where every tree resembles every other.

The way that birds show devoted behavior towards their young is also most striking. Some birds construct highly intricate nests, taking account of a great many factors during their construction. Birds living by the seashore, for example, build nests that cannot be flooded, using the appropriate materials for this. They even calculate how their future young should come to no harm in the event that water levels rise. Some marsh-dwelling birds build nests with high walls so that their eggs cannot be blown out by the wind.

How are such different types of nests, intelligent behavior and altruism, whose variety would fill many volumes, possible for these creatures, which are totally without reason or training?

It is impossible for them to have gradually developed the features they possess, because they could not have survived during the intermediate stages of any such process. Indeed, no creature has ever grown to perfection in stages, as evolutionists would have us believe. On the contrary, all different living groups have existed in their current perfect states ever since they first appeared in the Earth's geological strata.

This is scientific evidence that birds too were created, and this evidence represents a truth taught to human beings in the Qur'an: it is Allah, the Creator of all things, Who created these creatures with all the features they possess and the systems appropriate to them.

In verses, Allah reveals His dominion over the living world:

“. . . There is no creature He does not hold by the forelock.” (Surah Hud, 56)

Peppered Moths Are No Evidence for Evolution through Natural Selection

Of all the supposed "proofs" of the theory of evolution, the most frequently repeated concerns changes in a species of moth in 19th century Britain. It is claimed that due to air pollution during the Industrial Revolution, tree bark was darkened-for which reason dark- colored moths were better camouflaged from predatory birds, and thus their numbers increased.

But this is not evolution, because no new species of moth emerged. All that happened was that the ratio ratio of the two already existing types in an already existing species changed. In addition, it has since emerged that the account on which this claim was based was untrue. The well-known photos showing moths clinging to the bark of trees were found to be fabrications. Contrary to what has been claimed, no instance of so-called "industrial melanism"-the darkening of color due to industrial pollution-has ever taken place.
