One would not be devout just by saying "come on, be devout." Piety has its phases. For one to be devout, first idols should be eliminated. If their idols remain, they will not understand your religion, they will turn towards the idols. Without annihilating Darwinism, how can you communicate religion?
It is not possible to procure religiousness through governments; that can only be made possible with the system of the Mahdi. The system, the spirit that would come about in religiousness is love. I mean the system of the Mahdi brings about a lot of love, compassion, mercy, understanding, tolerance, sweetness, broadness of perspective, arts and science, it would bring about social justice; none of which can be attained through impositions. In the system of the Mahdi there is no place for impositions.
In uneducated people there is a strong tendency towards violence and vandalism; it is very easy for them to ravage things. It is very easy for them to fall in disbelief. It is very easy for them to be irreligious. But being religious requires having good morals, being sensible and strong-willed; it requires patience, self-sacrifice and profundity. It is not easy. That is why communist way of thinking develops very easily among them.
Radicalism is very dangerous. But religious people are beautific. You can be sure of them in all respects, that is very nice. They fear God, they love God, they do not tell lies, they do not play tricks, they do not act disloyal, they never act against their conscience, they never act cruel. How nice! Anything other than this would be very dangerous.
Religion classes in the syllabus would not cause youngsters to become religious; they simply give them general knowledge. But if facts leading to faith were to be taught in religion classes, if the miracles of the Qur'an were to be taught, then we can say that a faithful, devout youth is being aimed at.
