Tayyip Erdoğan: “Those who say ‘No’ are as respected as those who say ‘Yes’”

What He Said?What Happened?

After Mr. Adnan Oktar’s statements he made regarding the recent plebiscite in his discourses, “Let’s use a moderate tone, let’s not be polarized. Both those who say ‘Yes’ and those who say ‘No’ are the children of this country”, some of our politicians started to use a more embracing tone.

Recently, our President Mr. Erdoğan made a speech and said, “Those who say ‘No’ are as respecteded as those who say ‘Yes.”

ADNAN OKTAR: There is no sense in escalating this mutual tension. Let’s not go against everyone. Let’s not become opponents with everybody. Constant retaliations, constant conflicts should never exist. A kind criticism would be enough. Endless retaliations are not good. We should calm down everyone. In other words, we should not use an aggressive tone but approach everybody with compassion, adopt a reasonable manner based on compassion. Otherwise, it leads to tension. Power and opposition should be close to each other, let’s create a peaceful atmosphere. Let’s lower the tension and calm down everybody.

It is very wrong to see those people who say ‘No’ as if they are horrible people. They should emphasize this over and over again. May God bless them, after we said these things, there have been many such speeches.

ADNAN OKTAR: Now, we asked the Government not to make such (polarizing) speeches; may God bless our Government, they started to make favorable statements. They gave up that sharp, antagonistic, polarizing style and it has been very good. In general, there is a constructive style, a style that is more moderate as the plebiscite cannot be a matter of conflict.  We are a nation that has adopted the culture of referendums; we can hold a referendum ten times, twenty times in a year. We go and vote with heart and soul. Those who vote ‘No’ are our brothers as well as those who vote ‘Yes”. We love the entire nation, all of it.

ADNAN OKTAR: Those who want to say ‘No’ should freely say ‘No’ and those who want to say ‘Yes’ should freely say ‘Yes’.  Everybody should freely be able to say what they want. Everybody should understand that Turkey is a free country.

ADNAN OKTAR: Such a polarized Turkey would be risky. The Government should avoid this. Criticize this, criticize that; that’s not the way it should be. Let  events take their natural course. Everybody should adopt a moderate tone in criticizing others. A loving manner would be much better because an antagonistic manner will not change the situation. People will get more resentful and more distant from us.  Nothing else will happen. It will not be any good. A moderate tone will be good. Then it will show that we have confidence in ourselves. The atmosphere is a bit tense. They should calm down the tension, we ask for it.

ADNAN OKTAR:  Both sides are our people. Those who say ‘No’ are good as well as those who say ‘Yes’. It would be very wrong to refer any side as if they are traitors  or refer them as if they are abnormal people. Such an attitude will only benefit the British deep state. Everybody should strongly avoid this.

February 28th, 2017: A9 TV

ADNAN OKTAR: It is very unpleasant to use an accusatory manner for those who say ‘No’ or those who say ‘Yes’. Such a manner would be a kind of an insult to the intelligence of people.

February 27th, 2017: A9 TV

ADNAN OKTAR:  It is  major persecution and ill-judgment to mark those who say ‘No’ as  potential traitors, to show them as being on the same side as the  PKK and it is a way of behaving that would only lead to separation of Turkey. So, nobody should be deceived by the scheme of the British deep state as a new method of dividing nations.   It would be inappropriate and demagogy to use such a style.  It should be strongly avoided to use such an approach to openly divide Turkey into two.

Tayyip Erdoğan: “Those who say ‘No’ are as respected as those who say ‘Yes’”

The President Erdoğan said the following in his speech:

“We believe in democracy so much, we are devoted to it so much that the will of nation is the most respected peak for us. Those who say ‘No’ are as respectful as those who say ‘Yes’. However, we have a responsibility to warn everybody when we explain the meaning of saying ‘Yes’.
